10 days after the catastraf*** that was the Fiscal Event…..

https://news.sky.com/story/liz-truss-to-delay-approval-vote-on-cutting-45p-rate-of-tax-cabinet-minister-says-12710703

Sounds like she’s lost the Parliamentary party already.
Well, we knew it was going to be a roller-coaster ride…..Lol.
How to install confidence in Britain and the markets eh?

What a shambles.

^ Our forefathers also ensured we have a right to freedom of speech, Bobbi. And that includes criticising the government of the day, irrespective of whether or not we used our right to vote.

The members of the Tory party, mostly octogenarians who reminisce about ‘the good old days’ and that awfully nice chap Macmillan.
dave, could be.
Werther's Warriors is an affectionate epithet for the elderly, em.

//I think Fatti is just envious of those who might be doing a bit better than him.
BTW - voters choose an MP NOT the PM//

But voters chose THIS current PM, didn’t they Deskdi……sorry, Davebro? Lol
most of the people who remembered Macmillan aren't with us any longer. after all he was PM a long time ago.

your disparaging remarks really gets on my wick.
Because they sit around all day watching Countdown and sucking industrial quantities of Werther's Original Mints.

Feel free to stop reading them at your leisure.
Or maybe answer the questions I asked if you yesterday and give a credible response?

Spicey the Tory party member knows the demographic far better than I do.

No. The leader of the party was chosen in the same way all leaders are chosen... by the party membership. And will you please stop accusing people of having multiple accounts here. It's not only boring, it's stupid and you make yourself look stupid. Those you're targeting don't!
Don't side-track your own thread, MrF.
This really is real and massive news. (for once)
i have more things to worry me than your often infantile posts.
if i don't reply then i am otherwise occupied.
Liz has done a massive U-turn. First policy they announced, too.
Of course, this will delight and appease all her critics.
Goodness knows how we can fill the void this will create.
spicey, Kwarteng is doing the U turn.

The problem isn't what they plan on doing, or why. The problem was that they just did it, without explaining what they were going to do beforehand and how it would be paid for. Hence Truss's comments yesterday that she should have "laid the ground better".
drmorgan, agreed, they should have laid out the plans before just doing it.
//spicey, Kwarteng is doing the U turn.//

Do you think that Kwarteng acts , in isolation to the cabinet / without the nod from the PM?
roller coaster ride
more like being cast down a well

so you brief love affair with Liz is over - so in love and now spurned.
BBC jubilant
And will you please stop accusing people of having multiple accounts here.
and please keep to the point whilst you are at it
and stop trying to police the threads - the mods make enough mess as it is - ter daaah !
.
Grant Shapps - she is borrowing to give bankers a tax break ....
well not now....
yes i am aware that the PM and her Chancellor have to converse on these matters. But Kwarteng is the one on the news just now telling us that this 45percent tax cut won't go ahead.
that lovely chap Macmillan
Churchill was in 1955 known to be ga-ga
Mac's inability to keep Dorothy out of Boothby's bed ( he preferred muscular young men) was a better kept secret

the whole of the treasury team ( inc Enoch Powell) resigned in 1962 ( "a little local difficulty") and dont forget that terribly nice man's 'night of the long knives'

Super-Mac was meant to be a sardonic insult like Slippery Sam, unfortunately his fans said - he is! he is!

Just saying as people seems fixated by double posting
