I think that the lady was asking where her family originated from. I think that is a genuine question, maybe not the time nor the place but it is hardly a major issue.

Charities
Charities can sometimes restrict their services or benefits to people with a particular protected characteristic - for example, women or disabled people. But they can only do this if it’s included in their charitable instrument. This is a document which all charities must have and which sets out the charity’s purposes and how the charity will operate.
The charity would also have to show one of these things:
that they have a good enough reason for discriminating against you, or
that it’s necessary to restrict their services to a particular group because of the disadvantage suffered by that group.
//However, charities can never restrict their services based on colour. This would always be unlawful race discrimination even if it's included in their charitable instrument.//
Clearly the last bit isn't true at all.

And your proof that the charity has, or does discriminate is - what exactly?
And please don't be rude, it's distracting, and I have the tiresome bother of reporting you for it.
If you have no answer, simply say so, I won't be surprised in the slightest.

choux - // andy, @ 22.01 - I disagree with you - if the Palace had not been so quick to support Fulani and, no doubt, force Lady Susan's hand to resign from her position then the latter was indeed found "guilty" with no apparent support from the Palace. //
To be found 'guilty', you have to be accused of something.
None of the media reports I have read suggest that Lady Huessey was 'accused' of anything by anyone - it's simply spinning facts to make them appear more exciting than they actually are.

Report all you want but you often come across as a troll. //
I could be offensive about how I perceive you through the posts you offer, but I try hard to simply address the points you make, with occasional jibes because that is my response to your persistent discourtesy to me personally.
Now, do you have an an answer to my question?

I am compelled to ask the same question yet again - why does the charity's status matter in the context of the OP?

roy - // Call me old fashioned, Barmaid but if you are in need of refuge your race creed or colour shouldn't be a factor. //
Spoken like a white man who wouldn't understand the experience of racism if it jumped up and bit him.
Imagine Roy, if you were a woman living in a foreign country, maybe speaking another language, but certainly getting to grips with an alien culture.
And you were subjected to violent domestic abuse, and needed somewhere to turn?
Might you prefer to speak with people who understood your own language and culture and could give you a feeling of safety, community and understanding?
And might that be the place to which you would turn first?
I expect you not to respond politely, if at all, but I offer the chance to discuss if you wish to take it.

roy - // Threads move on. Who put you in charge of how a thread progresses? //
I assume you are addressing me with that comment?
If so, threads do indeed move on, but when the start entering areas that are not remotely related to the OP, then a question about that is, in my voiew, appropriate.
Since my post wasn't addressed to you, feel free to continue your position of not answering me - that works better for both of us.

While you have been pontificating on here I have been interacting with POC on twitter and despite what you and Elipsis think the black community are very divided over this. Many Africans thing she is guilty of cultural appropriation. I personally think cultural appropriation is nonsense but there you are.

You're a white man whose only regular mixing with someone not white is getting his head shaved by a Muslim barber...clearly you are no expert either. //
Leaving aside the fact that you have no idea what my mixing with other ethnicities involved, or how wide-ranging it is - I would never claim to be an expert on racism.
That's why I don't post lofty pronouncements on how victimised women of colour should seek assistance in their hour of need.
What's your experience, do tell ..
