I think that the lady was asking where her family originated from. I think that is a genuine question, maybe not the time nor the place but it is hardly a major issue.

naomi - // //I seem to be repeating ad nauseum//

You do indeed. Why you do is a mystery. //

A mystery similar to why you read my post at 08:40, and decided to ignore it, as you always do when called out on something you find uncomfortable.

But not as big a mystery as to why you, and others on here, enjoy 20:20 hindsight about someone you knew nothing about this time last week, but have enjoyed revealed evidence that she is a racist, because you can't bear to admit that she was right to be upset by what happened to her.

Ms Fulani may be a racist, but none of you knew that until people started looking into her history, entirely to discredit her reaction to the rudeness she received.

She's a racist, so if someone is rude to her, that's not a problem.

Well a minority of people on here, of which I am one, actually think that it is a problem.
A-H - Is that you being sarcastic again - or just rude
Khandro - // Lady Hussey should have said, "No, I mean what is your real name?

and Ngozi Fulani aka Mary or Marlene Headley, would benefit from reading the Bible, or even the Koran, they both have quite a lot to say about honouring & respecting the elderly. //

And Ms Fulani should have not attended the event, then she would not have encountered a rude old lady.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - you can spin it to defend everything if you try, and heaven knows, you are trying harder than most.
Margo - // A-H - Is that you being sarcastic again - or just rude //

I'll need an indication of which post you are responding to, in order to answer you.

she likes it: she's a lady. Give her a bit of space Andy
Any chance of peace breaking out?
no cross ref, no repeats
just go for rude, andy
a-h: // And Ms Fulani should have not attended the event, then she would not have encountered a rude old lady.//

? !

yeah quite a few have said this - if you go to the palace, you wont get fish and chips....

I am not 'at war' with anyone personally.

I strongly object to a concerted campaign based entirely on information gained in hindsight and intended to damage the reputation of the individual who received unacceptable rudeness, the inference being that she effectively deserved it.

And I will repeat and defend that position as long as people defending such behaviour continue to do so.
Good grief - 350 posts about what some old biddy said! Folk need to get a life.
Khandro - // a-h: // And Ms Fulani should have not attended the event, then she would not have encountered a rude old lady.//

In your defence of lady Hussey, you now wish to endow her with the knowledge that the complete stranger she was talking to may have a different identity, and she should have asked about it.

I extended that ludicrousness.

Since you are changing circumstances to fit what you wish would have happened, but didn't, I simply cut to the chase and added my own 'twist to fit' - if Ms Fulani doesn't attend the event at all, she is not subjected to objectionable rudeness.
maggie - // Good grief - 350 posts about what some old biddy said! Folk need to get a life. //

Different things are important to different people, in different ways.

What 'some old biddy said ...' to one person, is unacceptable rudeness which has blown up out of all proportion to others - but has also attracted a nasty campaign of character assassination which has nothing at all to do with the cause of the furore.
Dictionary definition: ad nauseam - // used to refer to the fact that something has been done or repeated so often that it has become annoying or tiresome.//

Your take on your own ramblings, AH, but I strongly suspect many agree with you.
naomi - // Your take on your own ramblings, AH, but I strongly suspect many agree with you. //

And I strongly suspect that I couldn't care less
Should Ms Headly have attended this event given, as we now know, her antipathy to the Royal Family?

(waiting for post to be removed)
Clearly - and to your own detriment, AH - but that, of course, is your choice.
will you two stop squabbling?
I express shock at Naomi using Latin - but very sensibly looking up what it meant - surely a day to remember ( nem con)

Let us get back to the important things in Life - what old leddy said to british afro caribbean leddy
or which 14 y old Andy is courting these days - dirty boy!
now now you two - STOP IT!
//Should Ms Headly have attended this event given, as we now know, her antipathy to the Royal Family? //

The invitation was possibly - just possibly - a godsend, LJ - and what luck that someone should enquire about her background.
