I think that the lady was asking where her family originated from. I think that is a genuine question, maybe not the time nor the place but it is hardly a major issue.

AH // not a racist incident' //
AH // cherry-picked one observation from me? //
You say, cherrypicking. I say, a crucial factor in which Prince William took the contrary view to condemn his godmother.
In fact, so damning are the comments made by her godson, it serves to cause an egregious and indelible stain on her reputation.
// metaphysical set of scales being loaded //
Anyone who chooses to embrace the metaphysical scales and draw a priori reason that LadySH is exonerated of poor conduct, is quite frankly, wrong!
On that score, we are on the same page.
// So do by all means have a read, and then come back with perhaps a more balanced idea of where your criticism should actually be directed.//
Be rest assured, my query was not a criticism of your stance over this matter.
I seek the grounds as to why the Palace have chosen to brand the former LiW as racist, whereas you have adopted the diametric standpoint.
//If you want to have a pop at Lady Hussey's defenders, then any poster, apart from myself//
Please don't go paranoid on me.
I have no desire to have a pop at anyone.
//I am wary of using an emotive term like 'racist' because it has such undertones of hatred and incitement. //
Ought Prince William to have been more wary?
Could it be that you have misinterpreted the transcript?
Surely one can be forgiven for thinking that one of the named parties above, made a miscalculation in their reckoning of the exchange which occurred between LadySH and NF?

Barsel - //I know some people are not fans of Nigel Farage but I'm going to post this anyway. It plays for just over 3 mins.
I hope AH and others will watch it. //
I did watch your clip.
It was Nigel Farage pumping up the already agitated audience, which is the television equivalent of waving raw meat at a bunch of hyenas and watching them get bark and salivate.
He talks about lady Hussey giving "six decades of service to this country ..." which is nonsense.
She has given six decades of service to her friend the Queen, which is not the same as giving service to the nation.
He then refers to a series of 'non-replies' from Ms Fulani.
I don;t think answering the question 'Where are you from? with the name of her charity, and the area in which it based are 'non-answers', but if you are looking to wind people up, as Nigel is, then that's the approach you take.
As for the idea that she was carrying a tape recorder, and that's how she remembered the conversation - that is just utter piffle.
I have had nasty conversations with bosses at work move than thirty years ago, and I can quote them word for word today, because I was so incensed that they are burned into my memory, so the idea that Ms Fulani can remember an exchange from a few hours before seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Nigel does what Nigel does - shoots fish in a barrel, winding up the terminally offended for entertainment.
It does not change my view of what has happened on jot.

Ngozi Fulani, head of a charity, was invited to Buckingham Palace in that capacity.
While there, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments’ were made to her by Lady Susan Hussey, who expressed her profound apologies for the hurt caused, and stepped aside from her role.
These are the facts according to all parties present.
Why 836 posts are required to discuss them, I cannot fathom.

Zebu - // From the youtube clip above.
If it is true what Nigel Farage claims i.e., Fulani had a tape recorder on her person (hence the exactness of the transcript).
Is this not grounds for entrapment? //
Possibly - if on the one hand you believe the nonsense that Nigel Farage is suggesting, that Ms Fulani attended the event with the express intention of creating an incident.
And secondly, if you can prove that Ms Fulani was recording the conversation.
Since her defenders are keen to point out that Lady Hussey has given 'sixty years of blameless service ... ' blah blah blah, why do you imagine Ms Fulani was recording a conversation with her?
Or perhaps she wasn't, and it's Nigel dreaming up agitation, because that's what he does as a career these days.

Ellipsis - // Why 836 posts are required to discuss them, I cannot fathom. //
I can.
It's because the majority of posters are more keen to bend themselves six ways 'til Sunday to trash Ms Fulani's reputation and bull up Lady Hussey to virtual sainthood, rather than concede that what happened, happened, as advised, and the response of Lady Hussey rather underlines it.
