I think that the lady was asking where her family originated from. I think that is a genuine question, maybe not the time nor the place but it is hardly a major issue.

AH, I understood every word. You, however, must try harder //
In that case, your stance as Devil's Advocate does you very well.
Because that's the only reason I can think of for your willful intention to swerve each and every piece of evidence and logical argument that has been presented to you this evening, and throughout the life of this thread.
I have debated with you many times over the years, and I know you to be far from stupid - so your current persona of a stupid person can only be for the purposes of extending the debate for your own amusement.

Corby - // NAOMI, I have no idea what the late Queen's judgement was regarding any of her staff, let alone Lady Hussey and neither do you yet you've claimed her performance was exemplary. //
Naomi is determined at all costs, for reasons I cannot begin to fathom, to defend Lady Hussey with every last breath in her body.
The fact that Lady Hussey clearly needs no defence whatsoever, having acknowledged her wrongdoing and apologised for it, is something that only Naomi can understand.

Ellipsis. I agree that the palace issued a statement and that Lady Hussey stepped down - firstly because the palace doesn’t embroil itself in manufactured controversial nonsense and secondly because Lady Hussey had the grace, the breeding and the loyalty to protect the family to the best of her ability. You’re right. You are done.
Andy, you are obviously someone who has decided exactly what happened here and you are not even going to think you might be mistaken.
If I was in that situation, I would not be offended as I would ask the person asking me the question what exactly do they mean.
I would not put it on social media, go to the papers, the TV and radio and cause this woman to lose her job and call the RF racists.

What you refer to as 'manufactured nonsense' was unacceptable rudeness by Lady Hussey for which she has accepted responsibility, apologised and stepped down.
'Protection of the family' and 'breeding' has nothing whatsoever to do with it.
No-one requires 'breeding' to admit they are in error, accept it, and apologise.
You should try it some time, it would do you good.

Wrong.
I am someone who is happy to accept that rude behaviour occurred, because the person who behaved rudely admitted it, apologised, and withdrew from her role.
It doesn;t matter what I think - or what anyone else thinks.
Lady Hussey, who was there - has made it clear what happened with her subsequent actions.
Now if she can accept that, why can't you?
If I was in that situation, I would not be offended as I would ask the person asking me the question what exactly do they mean. //
Fair enough - but you weren't and if Ms Fulani opted to take offence, that is her privilege, and we are in no position to deny her that.
// I would not put it on social media, go to the papers, the TV and radio and cause this woman to lose her job //
Ms Fulani did not cause Lady Hussey to 'lose her job' - it's not a 'job, it's a position, and she resigned from it - Ms Fulani had no input into that decision, it was made by Lady Hussey herself.

How is asking someone where they are from unacceptable rudeness?
I would appreciate it if you would refer to my post as well as naomi and Ellipsis. //
I have repeated this several times on this thread, but I am happy to repeat it again.
Asking someone where they are from is not unacceptable rudeness.
Making it plain that you think they are lying to you with their answer, and asking "Where are you really from?" is unacceptable rudeness.
Hopefully that clears up any misunderstanding.

Ellipsis, where did I say I didn’t agree with the palace’s statement - and where did the palace mention a word that Lady Hussey is alleged to have uttered? I didn’t - and they didn’t.
Thanks Barsel. I would like to think that some here are just being awkward … but after all these posts I’m not so sure. The requirement to explain simply abs in minute detail is something I thought we reserved for children.

Stop nitpicking.
No, I'm not Ms Fulani thank goodness.
This woman is someone who runs a charity for abused women of colour.
Doesn't help white women or biracial women.
If that isn't racism, I don't know what is.
The RF jumped into this far too quickly and so as not to cause distress, Lady Hussey resigned.
If I had the choice of getting to know one of these women. I know which one it would be.

I'm not 'nitpicking', I am dismantling your argument, which is frankly absurdly easy to do.

You have no evidence that the charity does not help white or mixed race women - that is simply an assumption posted on here that you are happy to run with.
// The RF jumped into this far too quickly and so as not to cause distress, Lady Hussey resigned. //
You have no idea what motivated Lady Hussey to resign - assumption again on your part.

Me too!

There is no involvement from 'society' whatsoever.
The palace issued a statement, Lady Hussey apologised and resigned.
Naomi is being hyperbolic in order to try and bolster her frankly baffling notion that Lady Hussey remains blameless, even though Lady Hussey herself has accepted blame and apologised for what shew said.

No, it isn't. It was documented in the newspapers.
If by your closing comment you are saying you would prefer to be a friend of ms Fulani, then that helps me to understand you and the rubbish you write.

andy hughes
a bigoted reactionary old biddy who thinks all 'darkies' are 'foreign',
Also andy hughes
To entirely appreciate Lady Hussey's rapid apology, regret her resignation, and understand that this was in no way a racist incident, or inentional in any way.

Roadman, racism - which I don't believe was in play - is not acceptable, especially if you are old and experienced enough to know better
Madness.
