I see it, as I said, as her having the additional grace to add a face-to-face apology to the one she issued immediately after the incident occurred.

Why does it need to be anything other than just that.

The result is that the complainant is happy, all the people who have been making a meal of their outrage are happy, AH is happy, you’re happy, and the former lady in waiting is still on the king’s Christmas card list. Clever lady. Job done. Happy days.
