Of course they can. Don't you watch the Disney animated films? They can even talk you know. Meehh. ......What do you think that wild horses do, or did, to survive and evolve? Like all Earths creatures they weighed up the odds of survival. The ones who were good at it are still here. Byyee.

Ta ynnafymmi. It is not about the horses with the "activists", it is about them. They must get there attention fix every now and again ... that's why they glue themselves to things. Bless.
I agree with everything MissT says and yes I am a meat eater, although I don't eat a lot of it. It has nothing to do with the fact that I loathe the Grand National with a vengance. Every damn year beautiful horses lives are taken in the name of sport and this, in my eyes, can NEVER be right. Such a waste, but as usual human greed is far more important! You can spout on as much as you like ynnaf, it just goes over my head. I know I am right.
And if I was younger, I would join protests too about this vile race.
//Every damn year beautiful horses lives are taken in the name of sport //

Without racing those horses would never have lived. Any life is precious.
Side note..
The Cheltenham festival is just an excuse for 1000s of people to spend 5 days more or less drinking to excess! Guzzling 1000 gallons of Guinness, the horse races are a side show!!!!

Haha. That is up there with "I do practice onanism but not much".
Would it be best to shoot all the horses so that they can't hurt themselves or just stop breeding them and allow them to become extinct?
I am not arguing I am asking from interest because I've not heard of them before - these Animal Rising protesters, how do we know they are upper class hooray henrys? Who are they?

Far MORE people are involved & watch on the media than ever attend the races.
Prudie, they aren't 'hooray Henries', they are very much a mixed bag, formerly known as Animal Rebelion. Some will be financially better off than others, some will be unemployed at every type of person between the two.
If racehorses weren't bred to race the breed would soon die out like the plough horse.
The horse racing business employs over 85000 people in the UK, nearly 29000 in Ireland. Many more are employed indirectly.
I shoulda said:

Without racing those *beautiful* horses would never have lived.
16.46--Prudie --I enlarged one of the news pictures and there were approx.20 people on it. 11 were women of various ages.
Maybe the animal rights activists would like to see ALL animals that we currently breed for food or for any purpose that doesn't meet their approval wiped out? No cattle, no sheep, no chickens, no racehorses, etc. etc. Even all fish - cos fishing is cruel right?
Dave, since when have racehorses been bred for food?

Check out what Les grenouilles are liable to eat.
Flat racing has far fewer casualties than National Hunt. If fences and hurdles were abolished tomorrow there'd still be a breeding/racing industry employing thousands of workers and worth hundreds of millions.

Cats and dogs being kept in captivity would have to stop as well.
Togo I couldn't care less what Les grenouilles eat.
I eat Beef, Pork and Chicken and as far as I'm aware, none of these have jockeys on their backs seeing how fast they can run and neither do they have to jump fences.
I was going to say, I thought that was the ultimate goal of Peta. All animals, including pets, that are controlled by humans to be eradicated.
