Awful stuff and it sounds awful to say but at least no tourists and their kids were on board it sounds like all crew who will be trained and hopefully experienced

I can't think of anything worse. If companies are going to take people down to wrecks like this, there needs to be massive regulation as there was with civil aviation after the early days

a tourist trip to a wreck on which 1500 people died? I find that rather creepy. Dives for scientific or historical purposes I can understand, but "All aboard the Skylark to 4000 metres" sounds wrong.

I also agree with jno. I don't like the idea of disturbing sunken ships. There's always tragedy attached to them.

I can't see myself embarking on such an excursion, but I can understand the desire for seeing first hand a famous wreck on the sea floor. I'm content with seeing the robot film footage.

Meanwhile, best of luck to them. One would've thought these submarines had some kind off signal beacon on board in the event of needing to be found.

maybe its because you don't know them personally,
like any accident / incident that happens, if it doesn't concern me I've no interest in fatalities. I'm interested in how the accident occurs but nothing else

Anyone undertaking a trip of this kind must be aware of the possible dangers - same as going into space or down underground into a pot hole - yet still they do it, so how can anyone lose sleep over something they chose to do? You wouldn't get me into one of them for all the tea in China. I do hope they find them alive but won't be suprised at all if they don't.
