If the sub is not found in time will the operation continue to find the sub and the remains of those on board or will it be scaled down, I recall a caver trapped in a cave who couldn't be rescued and his body was left

1ozzy@ 9am. Not funny.
I can't understand why some people think it's funny to joke about this sort of thing.
US knew of the implosion at the moment it happened but kept quiet

more likely - they werent sure. - glad to see s/o else wondering what the knocks were. Human brain is hard wired to detect patterns even in random circs

Retro - Turing did indeed mechanise the solution to enigma but also wrote 1936 On computable numbers with an application to the entscheidungsproblem, ( altbo is referred to by the buxom female lead in the film 'enigma')

which we now call the halting problem.

(and if fail-safe program always predicted failure/safe, then you cd use it to solve the Halting problem (HP) which we know is not solvable, so the failsafe program isnt ( always true). A very very technical argument called 'reduction')

what did the British Army officer say? "In a good going cack up, never underestimate the role of sheer incompetence"

because it is called IRONY ? -

my brudduz comment was
I saw an archive clip on the Titanic sub touristic CEO boasting that he wanted his outfit to be ‘inspirational’ so there were no old white men with military or submariner backgrounds. Only youngsters with diversity, inclusion and ethnicus badges, and anyone with a Playstation handset could control the miracle craft, even Fluffianas.

which you may feel is unbearably flippant but seems to be true
That poor boy didn't want to go but went only to please his father!

Me too Tilly.
Neither do I, Barsel. I have reported his disgusting post.
Good. But I see it's still there.
Gone now thankfully.

I thought the way ozzy looked down his nose re certain ABers, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth?
Really, roy?
Retro, the Independent is now confirming what you said - that the US navy knew the craft had imploded when it happened but kept it quiet. It beggars belief that they allowed the frantic search to continue.
// It beggars belief that they allowed the frantic search to continue. //

the answer may lie in one of P-P's earlier posts - there's more money available for search & rescue than there is for salvage exercises.
///Even if the sub could be opened from the inside the enormous pressure at that depth would mean instant death.///

If you read my post fully, I was suggesting it could be operated after the sub had reached the surface. Never mind, no doubt your attempt to belittle made you feel happy.
Apparently they kept it quiet to protect their secret underwater listening devices. Odd that they tell us five days later that they have such devices Perhaps the news didn’t come officially but was leaked? All very strange.
Maybe the underwater listening devices don’t really work but they don’t want the ruskies to know this, so now it’s know the craft imploded there saying ‘oh yeah, we knew that’.
Chairman, keep your hair on. I wasn’t trying to belittle anyone. I was responding to Lankeela’s post - not yours.
the aunt of the deceased 19 year old suleman dawood has said that he didn't want to go on the stupid trip in the first place because he was terrified of going on the submarine... he was only persuaded to do it because his dad had bought the tickets for father's day weekend and he wanted to please his father as his dad was obsessed with the titanic

what a crummy dad.

The ‘ aunt’ should keep her mouth closed. What good would it do for anyone( if it’s true) .
london voted heavily to remain and i would guess the majority of londoners have not changed their minds...
Aye ? :-)
