If the sub is not found in time will the operation continue to find the sub and the remains of those on board or will it be scaled down, I recall a caver trapped in a cave who couldn't be rescued and his body was left

Ridiculous statement from Boris but then that's nothing new!
“ Everything that has never happened through history has been entirely caused by a spirit of adventure in a person, or persons. ”

andy it was not “adventure” it was tourism for people with mountains of money… even if this man had decided that the best use of his obscene wealth was to rubber neck at the titanic in person there was no reason to drum his reluctant kid into going with him when he was obviously frightened… and right to be.

if only there were some kind of example from history which said something about the hubris of the world’s wealthiest in failing to respect the dangers of the ocean. i’m sure there must be one.
Hunt sort of did, though, Ellipsis, taking the Times correspondent along (though not as far as the top). I've no idea who paid what but I imagine someone did.
I seem to remember reading that the very rich guy on it paid £200k.
It’s not about money.
People lose their lives doing all sorts of dangerous things that don’t cost anything.
does stockton rush get a darwin award?

this must go down in history on a par with famous last words
"are they shooting at us?" some confed general ( dead white man)
not about money- very noble
but someone has to pay the rescuers Naomi.

"we want you to pay for the rescue attempt for the CEo of the company whose badly designed craft killed him along with four others"

and it isnt even AB !
and as you are fond of saying, this is the AB, and it does have pointless nitpickers like you on it.

erm can we have ( from the mods as well!) slightly more about submersibles ( cost and design etc) and less about ME ME ME?

it kinda makes it more readable to outsiders
Stockton Rush should obtain a Darwin Award PP.
Not only because he killed himself,,
//and as you are fond of saying, this is the AB, and it does have pointless nitpickers like you on it. //

You haven't heard that from me, PP. You must be thinking of someone else.

And we weren't talking about the rescuers. Untitled is complaining about 'obscene wealth' that allows the rich to pursue dangerous ventures. Do keep up.
Ross Kemp had a narrow escape.

//Ross Kemp had planned to film a television show that involved a dive to the Titanic wreck site in the OceanGate submersible - but it was cancelled over safety fears.

The actor, known for playing Grant Mitchell in EastEnders, was going to visit the wreck in the sub last year.

But TV company Atlantic Productions deemed the Titan not "fit for purpose". //

naomi; posting at 5:41 makes me wonder if you are up early, or haven't gone to bed yet :0)
Almost always early, Khandro.

He didn't say he had heard it from you - it was my post he was referring to.

Do keep up.

Untitled - // andy it was not “adventure” it was tourism for people with mountains of money… even if this man had decided that the best use of his obscene wealth was to rubber neck at the titanic in person there was no reason to drum his reluctant kid into going with him when he was obviously frightened… and right to be.

You seem to be agreeing with the few who suggest that because this man was very wealthy, and chose to spend his wealth in a way that put his life in danger, that he frankly got what he deserved.

I'm sure that's not what you meant ....

AH 22:18 Sat, thank you. That explains it then.
Really, still nit picking?
Doubt there's many left.
But don't let that stop you both.
Everyone needs a hobby.

^ Obviously someone is confused with their own obsession..
