I believe there are more than 100 women murdered every year by partners or ex-partners.  The killings have nothing to do with race or religion.

I suspect an honour killing.  Why do they get so uptight about it?   Because their community shuns the family when "dishonour" occurs. Very much like the RCs in Ireland, their incarceration of unwed mothers was just as barbaric in a way, especially when the priests then took advantage.
