there is a section in the local newspaper, stating that "Sandwell" is moving hundreds of asylum seekers out of its properties and giving these houses/flats to local people..

its about time logic was stronger than P.C. i have no problem with real asylum seekers, but its all gotten out of hand.

there is light at the end of the tunnel !!!!

rugeley boy, funky moped and unruelie julie, this is just to say i read the thread and completely agree with whats been spoke about.People are to quick to turn opinions like this into a racist thing, its almost like you get scared of what to write for fear of it, its ridiculous.
dont you just scruffscat, i personally feel that this day and age, everything is seen as racist. Wanting your country to be as good and as workable as possible, with the English citizens coming first, is seen as racism. That has got to be THE most overused word in the english language! How dare we be told our flag is racist for instance. Don't get me started on this. Its always turned around so we don't say how we feel for fear of being labelled a racist.
I have absolutely no problem with people putting English citizens (actually British - whilst born in England, citizenship is British) first - so long as all British citizens are put first be they white, black or asian.

What I (and others) get upset about is the typecasting that if you are not white, you are not British.

Quotes like "I totally know what funkymoped is saying. I agree with him 110 %. This country cannot handle the sheer volume of immigrants coming to our shores."

Firstly, there are more British citizens abroad than there are immigrants in this country.

Secondly, how do you know who is an immigrant and who is a British citizen? Is it by assumption on the colour of their skin?

firstly, my quote, that is a factual statement, not just my opinion, this country is struggling under the weight of immigration. No question. I have never said anything about colour. That was you! i think when i see and hear somalians and kosavans etc..... speaking in their native language, i can safely asssume they are NOT BRITISH born and bred. For those that are, i have NO problem.! Do Not put words in my mouth! Pleaseeeee can i ask, where do you live, do you have a high percentage of immigrants? If you did, i think you may just feel differently!

Oh and just for the record, i don't give a toss about how many British live abroad, for one, we NEVER expect them to change for us, we fit in and play by their rules and laws and secondly,we don't go to other countries and get every benefit going, including free housing, health and everything else they can get and thirdly, other countries DO put their own citizens first, they don't take a back seat so that johnny foreigner can come in and reap the befits of taxpayers!

  • "We always fit in and play by their rules and obey their laws"... that would be why so many British people had to snivel and grovel to the British Embassy when they were caught holding illegal drinks parties when they were living in Saudi Arabia etc. Presumeably this was because they had no problem obeying laws, or was it because they have no respect for other people's values and cultures and automatically assume that because they're British they are in some way superior and exempt from having to obey silly foreign laws. There are many other empire like examples I could cite but doubtless you won't care.
sorry NOX, i often respect your views but on this one i have to say "your clutching at straws with that arguement, illegal drinks parties!!!!! Get real, its about a little more than trivial stufff like that. Do we go into other countries and go straight on to benefits? I think not! They don't even let us in unless we have enough in the bank.I have elderly parents who get fuck all off this state cause they worked their rocks off all their lives. What for, to see scroungers from a different country, coming in, without ever having contributed a penny, and geting it all for free!! great isn't it! Please tell me, what is the point? They get it handed to them on a plate and i aint being funny but all these warring countries where their lives are in danger???? shed some light for me! Call me ignorant, call me what you like, this country is now full!!! No more room at the inn!
sorry for the f word, the censor still isn't working, obviously! whoops!

"trivial stuff like that" my point exactly, you denegrate other people's laws and cultures in their own country. It's a very serious matter there, maybe not to you, the foreigner etc etc etc, but it is to them and it's their country so, just as you'd not expect a man to come over here with a 13 year old wife because it would offend you and our laws whatever the laws of his country, you should respect other people's laws in their own country. It's simple, no? But that topic is to digress strongly from our main discussion which is that no, we are not bursting at the seams with scrounging asylum seekers and the sky is not going to fall.In the 50's it was the Irish, the 60's the Jamaicans, the 70's the Asians, etc etc etc, when will people stop panicking and making scapegoats where there needn't be any? All of these groups have integrated into british society without harming the economy so why are the Asylum seekers any different. It's horrible what some people are trying to do and they need to think really carefully because isn't tolerance what makes britian what it is and won't you want it back when it's gone?

WHATS THE BULLET FOR NOX ???

cant you accept you lost !!!

let it go Jules, he isnt worth it

One point that I think should be recognised...legal migrants are needed by this country because there's not enough money to pay for pensions in future.

It's a fact that many of the people serving us in shops, fixing our plumbing and building our roads are paying taxes and NI contributions which they won't necessarily claim on.

They will make their money, send some back home, and eventually retire back to their home countries. I'm not guessing this - I've seen it personally.

Try not to demonise immigrants. They're paying for your parent's pensions.
do you not read the News. I am not wrong. This country is going under! as i said before Enough is Enough! This is my country and i now feel like the foreigner. Is that right???? I particularly love the ones who come over, via family, to OUR contry, to use OUR NHS, paid for by British tax payers, and then bugger off back to their own country. What the hell is going on that this is happening.can i ask Nox, where do you live? Is it a case of "not on my doorstep?"
MY parents PAID for their pensions, how dare you!
That is why they worked their asses off for 50 years!!!!! I can't believe you even said that! The pensioners are the ones missing out in this country while we sit back and watch people from other countries reaping the benefits, literally! Unbelievable!!!!! Lets look after the immigrants and f off to our poor old pensioners! You what?????????? I think i am living on a different planet to you! Take off your rose coloured spectacles adn see it the way it really is.

"firstly, my quote, that is a factual statement, not just my opinion, this country is struggling under the weight of immigration. No question."

So how do you back up this fact? When you can realise the difference between fact and opinion, maybe we can have a sensible debate. Just because you think (or read a paper that thinks) it is a fact does not make it true.

How many people are homeless in this country? How many people starve to death on an hourly basis? How many people don't have access to medical treatment?
(And do you not want to admit the immigrant doctors and nurses)

I would try and respond to funky moped but to be fair I can't uynderstand his post - these people who don't have a grasp of teh English language - makes me sick! ;-)
Right my last post on the subject as clearly I'm clearly going to be villified for citing facts you'd like not to be true.Firstly the bullet was accidental, I didn't even realise it was there until I read your post, so apologies for that.To address julie first, I was born in West Belfast in 1960 into extreme poverty and social deprivation along with our area being one of the hots spots of the troubles all the way through to my adulthood.I moved to london ( multi ethnic area) and startde several businesses there, employing all races and creeds of people. We have lived also in inner city Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester, all of which have a huge immigrant population. We now live near a sleepy little Worcestershire village in the country, but that is nothing to do with the fact that there are no immigrants here because my daughter's Nanny and her boyfriend live in our house as part of their wages and guess what? They were both asylum seekers who were granted leave to stay. The local farmer employs, and has living in his premises, Albanians, kossovans etc etc and when you go into the local pub because of the high humber of agricultural labourers in the area you'll find about 30-50% of people are originally non British.
So actually there are plenty of immigrants in the countryside, they are not all alive and well and living in the inner cities on benefits, because oddly enough it's not their cultural thing to claim benefits long term, that's reserved for the council house dwelling little englanders with their untaxed cars, matresses in the front garden and 10 kids paid for by the state. I'm more concerned to be honest with social education to avoid people developing into that. What you and funkymoped are saying is not fact and the reasons that people disagree with you so strongly is that you are wrong and from personal experience people know you are wrong. Now that's all I've got to say about the whole subject so I'll leave the pale bvue wonder to post another unintelligible rambling post and confused everyone yet again with his declarations of victory and his unpleasant remarks about anyone who doesn't agree with him.
