As this government woefully underestimated the influx of Eastern Europeans last time around (10% of all people in Southampton are Poles according to the TV news last week), what is the best way to deal with the Romanians and Bulgarians?

I'm for refusing entry to all and to hell what the EU says.

Possibly cash in hand but that isn't the point. If u had a house plastered (badly) for �50 a day would u expect to pay less for the house itself? Or if u found that in your line of work u had to leave because they found someone who knew nothing of the job but took 75% less pay? I think you are being naive sp1814

And jno, the reason we have so little 'room' is the governments inability to release brown field sites for building and by not exceeding the green belt.

We should do as Australia, let people in if they have a skill we need. At the moment Austraila want doctors, nurses, dentists and other heath workers, they have no trouble emmigrating!!!

jno-you say that Japan has twice as many people in a similar area to the UK but omit to mention that the Japanese are extremely diminutive.

In point of fact ,you can fit 10 Japanese into the same space taken up by the average Briton.

We should therefore allow only very tiny people to enter our glorious country-a 2 ft. height bar at immigration would suffice.

As we are nearing the pantomime season, these people wouldl have no trouble finding gainful employment.
