I strongly believe in respecting other people's human rights. However, when will politicians have the courage to change the law and let it state that people who harm others intentionally, in the vile and vicious way that Huntley has admitted to doing, should lose their human rights? People who commit such depraved acts of violence on children should not be given any kind of leniency at all! They show no humanity towards their victims or the families they condemn to a life of pain and deepest sadness! At least bring back hard labour and let people like this slave themselves to death and make sure they do not take the easier opt out of a quick suicide. Please, let's not give them the satisfaction of hitting the headline news and newspapers, becoming famous and earning money from books and films about their crimes! The families of these children should never have to hear any mention of Hindley again unless they chose to receive certain information, i.e. when he finally dies. Imagine trying to rebuild your life after such a tragedy and every time you think you are getting a bit stronger, you open the paper to find your child's murderer staring back at you, because he has managed to draw attention to himself yet again. I wonder if the Russians might care to let the UK government rent a little plot in the depth of Sibieria, thousands of miles from anywhere, to house those who have been proven guilty of such crimes. A hard labour camp with blank walls and minimal facilities, just enough to keep people like Huntley alive and working his life away. But life is never that simple, is it?
