immigrants
hello i want to know how the british feel about immigrants and foreign people such as polish coming to our country, i am not a racist but i feel that they are bleeding our country dry as they come to work live ten to a room to make it cheap send there money home and go back after a few years and there set. i feel this is why our wages are low now coz they get foreign workers cheaper and they get housed over us, i know this coz i have been in this position and the council told us if you was foregin you would get housed tomorrow. i know this is very blunt but i feel its true what are you thougths on this? by the way its not leewayne,its her partner.

You know what, reading some of the stuff that's been said on News the last few days about being british or not being british as the case may be has actually made me feel really defeated and actually a little bit sad.
I've always figured that you take what you read on here with a large helping of source and possibly a little hot sauce too but I didn't actually believe the levels of ignorance displayed on here sometimes was a reality. Just pixels getting their rocks off somehow.
Now I'm starting to believe it.
And for once it's not the coffee here leaving a nasty taste.

Try replacing the word BRIT with Blacks or the P word and then see them pop up. Incidently it greatly offends me to have the word British shortened to BRIT. especially when used in this context. So is it any difference to shortening the longer word of Pakistani?

I had sort to avoid this thread but unfortunately I am strangely drawn to post.
I'm the child of a pole, my father came here after fighting for this country during the 2nd world war. I'm afraid that all I see are illeducated trouble makers, stirring the poop yet again. There are many poles in the area where I live and without exception they are hardworking. They rent houses, they buy their food localy, pay their taxes and send some money home.
I cannot begrudge them sending money home, as their families live on subsistence wages, with no benefit, wlefare or medicla assistance available to them.
They are employed because they are hardworking and reliable, they do not claim benefit or sponge.
I have worked all my life, have got myself a good job through education and hard work. Perhaps we might encourage some of our home grown scroungers off the dole by cutting it and making them work for a living instead of posting racially inflammatory material on here.

AOG - hmmm - I think we need clarification as to who exactly Legend007 is referring to , when he says BRITS .

not bothered so much about the polish, have worked with someone from that country, quite lazy if not told!! but in the field of care, he has now completed time here to get whatever to go back to poland and practise, cos he is a qualified trick cyclist, i worry about these romanian bulgarian and turkish if they are allowed to get into the european union what a farce, most of them are robbers, and thats the worry
Hate to burst bubbles here...but honest...from my experience Polish/Eastern European workers work extremely hard.
I think I might know why....we have a social secuity system in this country which 'allows' to be bone idle if we want to be.
However, they don't have this - therefore, they haven't had the same 'laziness training' as us.
What do think?

Nice try, but that doesn't make a jot of sense...unless you can refer me to all those occasions where you've been walking down street and been scared of a gang of skinheads out for a night of 'Brit bashing'.

You make it sound as if your father was doing this country a particular personal favour, but yes I agree the Poles did fight very hard and courageous during WW2, especially the Polish Airforce.
But please get it into perspective, it was Britain that went to war with Germany because they invaded Poland. So the fact is that your Father fought for his own country Poland.

cheap rates, rubbish quality,
if using this lot for the only reason you would it is prudent to put some extra money aside to cover the cost of making the job up to a satisfactory level,
if prepared to do this then why not pay someone decent at the correct and honest rate in the first place,
have you seen the quality of polish housing and public buildings?

it is like giving a ferrari for repair to a person used to ladas,
