Jesus, Mary and Joseph! WTF is going on? the lad's kin 13 for christ sake and it's game over! A miserable existance on benefits for him and his older woman for the rest of their natural. What's the legal position?

He looks totally shocked - look at the pictures, he's not smiling with joy like most new fathers, he's scared witless. An older woman R1? Blimey, she's still a kid herself.
The legal position is a bit difficult, as she obviously consented and they are both under age. Therefore the courts would be unlikely to want to prosecute them, and would it actually do any good anyway?.
The road ahead for these two is looking decidedly rocky, with the undoubted interference from social services, media intrusion and pressure from schoolwork (though I doubt that much was done by either of them before this so that probably won't figure). If they are together in a years time, with all the pressures of bringing up a child upon them, I''ll be amazed.

OMG what a shame!! that boy looks a lot younger then my 13 year old boy! and he's still a baby!! I would be heartbroke if he was a dad at this age. The girl is also young, but 2 years ahead of him and girls are generally more mature, she should handle it better than him, but, what a shame for them both, they have no idea of the road ahead.

They will not be together for long. The boy will soon tire of his new daughter, as most 13 year olds tire of most things after a fairly short time. He will move on to other things and probably other girls. Having seen no lasting after effects of his first venture into paternity, he will no doubt embark upon others, and will no doubt tire equally quickly of any new offspring he may sire. The meaning of the term �financial help� (or indeed emotional and practical help) will almost certainly never be known to him.
The girl will initially continue her life almost unaffected by the birth. The burden will fall on her mother. Despite assurances that she will support her daughter, the girl�s mother (with five children and also living on benefits) will soon tire of having an extra mouth to feed and extra nappies to change. It will be decided that they can no longer live together and the girl will be provided with free accommodation just as soon as she is old enough to live alone with her child (or probably, by then, children). She will receive free housing, free spending money and all the services that others have to pay for free of charge for the rest of her life. These facilities and benefits will be adequately adjusted to suit the number of offspring she may care to have.
Yes, the �Social Services� may become involved � but only to ensure that mother and child are receiving all the benefits and services to which they are entitled.

if the goverment stopped paying for those under 16 to have children then perhaps these things would not happen so often.
I wonder if her parents ever drummed into the risks of having a baby at such an age or whether they thought that if it happened theres no real worry the benefits will cover the extra.
Until this girl is 16 (at least) she should be the responsibility of her parents and as such they should be the ones to house and feed her and her child from their own wages (or in this case benefit payments)

Perhaps if Newspapers stopped paying for stories like this.
Oh that would mean people would stop buying Newpapers like the Sun and Gossip Magazines.
Before you get on your high horses about state hand outs remember that when you buy these papers and magazines you're subsidising this sort of behaviour

Do you think then, jake that youngsters indulge in this sort of behaviour in the hope that they can sell their "story" to The Sun? If so, get rid of The Sun and this would stop overnight.
I think carts and horses must spring to mind. If the youngsters did not behave as they do, there would be no stories for such "newspapers" to buy.
