sorry nosha, mis ID, apologies, senior moment! Sandy still get's the BGB though.
My posts aren't aimed at you nosha. Sorry if it caused any confusion
AV. Conversation over because you lost the argument hands down.
to R1 - apology accepted... phew.. I was about to flip out there in to a rage.. not a pretty sight! ;-)

To Carrust - no offence taken.. and I knew your posts were not aimed at me!

I do however - hope this news story isnt true... but somehow sadly I think that it is...
AV. That the best you can do...a pathetic link
///it was a waste of time trying to teach women.///

Everyone knows women in Afghanistan have brain the size of squirrel.

:-)
You brought the Nazis up.

I say again, if you live in a country you should live by their laws. I might want to drive on the right hand side of the road but I know I am not allowed so I don't do it. If I wanted to drive on the right, I would move to France. If he wnated to teach girls, he should have moved to another country.
AV

is the distinction that educating girls is not illegal in Afghanistan; just in the eyes of the Taliban?

So doing so is just dicing with their reach and dominion in any particular area.

.
AV.Perhaps the teacher had something you don't have (judging by your posts on here) a sense of social justice.
Irrelevant. He was breaking the law.

If I steal from a bank to give to a charity, would I get away with it?
It was Taliban law, not Afghan law!!!
///He was breaking the law. ///

Which law?

.
Law was maybe not a good word to use but you get my drift.
///If I steal from a bank to give to a charity, would I get away with it?///

Yes AV. By your logic you would if you were living in a Taliban area and robbed an infidel bank to fund the 'armed struggle'

.
If that is the custom in that part of the world then so be it. Anyone who goes in the face of it is a fool in my opinion. Similarly, I have no feelings for the couple who were kidnapped by pirates while sailing around Somalia or the guy abducted while bike riding round Iraq.
Anyone believing that a 7 year old would have the nous to be a spy will also believe this report. I, for one, do not.
I don't think they are talking James Bond stuff here but a quick "look over there and count how many guns you see" is certainly in the reach of a 7 year old. And who would suspect a 7 year old!

I think it's quite possible that a child could be used as a spy - but I think it's absolutely appalling that any regime would even consider executing him. We shall have to wait and see whether or not the report is verified - but bearing in mind the menality of the Taliban, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it is.
its now on sky news.. and other middle east news sites are reporting the same....

Wouldnt put it past the Taliban scum who do this in the name of their so called religion

nuke 'em
