I just do not see why we cant say it as it is thats not called racism far from it,but if something is white, its white if its black or coloured then so be it.I'm white and don't mind being called white, the snow is white, and BAA BAA the sheep is black.Always has been, Sorry if you don't like that but thats just life

[edited by AB]

In the post I linked to, you stated that you actually saw a school newsletter from the dept of education banning the nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep. Zara claimed her son told her the same.

Yet this happened in Birmingham. Not Scotland. 5 or 6 years ago. And it was never banned. (It also had nothing to do with the colour black). I remember reading about it at the time and in the other post I asked you to name the school you clain to have seen this newsletter. I also asked Zara for the name of the school since you were apparently reluctant to do so.

Hope that makes a bit more sense

Well i'm in norfolk not scotland and my 8 year old's school DID say the problem was with the word black in the nursery rhyme, that it wasn't politically correct, but it has been a black sheep for years,no need to change it is there?
And I was in a primary school in Wishaw and saw it on the notice board! The reasons for it were the same as zara's. I'm not being abusive BTW, I'm retalliating against your jibes and insults! You know, this problem of insane PC measures is a nationwide problem, and its going to destroy our country.
do people really have to be described by the colour of their skin...cant everyone just see them as another human being!! maybe with different upbringings but so what!! it really doesnt matter what colour anyone is at the end of the day they should be judged on their behaviour...we are all coloured in different shades...

I believe I said that earlier, but here I'am being attacked and called stupid!!

78-you make a rod for your own back.I believe you have relevant points to make - you are way too aggressive at times.

Anyway tou said Bye Bye yesterday - but you're like me ye just cannae help yerself:)

Temper it a bit and I think people will get where you're coming from. You're just too full on.

I am not being critical - I am a fellow Scot who has had to temper my opinions somewahat because others dont like the in yer face approach:)

well i read a poem in our local newspaper, written by a little girl who i think was only about seven but it made so much bloody sense it was unbelievable! a "coloured" person is so called by a "non-coloured" person in a pub, he then turns round and says something along the lines of "you go pink when you're embarasd, red when you've had the sun, blue when you're cold, white when you're scared and green when you're sick - you've got a cheek to call me coloured"

i personally think all this politcally correct nonsense is spiralling out of control.

i almost had a fit when i heard that they are banning nurseries and primary schools from teaching the song "baa baa black sheep" as it's offensive, it's now to be "baa baa happy sheep" i thought my boss was taking the pi$$ when she told me that but, no, sure enough it was in the paper and everything! crazy!

blink - you are singing from the same song sheet as me.

I just dont get it.

Supposed they put electrodes on my head and tried to indoctrinate me I just dont get it it.

I have said on countless occasions the only case for distinction in skin colur would obviously be in a crimenal case.

I feel like a hippy now - although my kids are of the same opinion as me - could be me (hope so) or it could be that it is all a throwback.

I just hate it- and will always fight against it - on here or anywhere else.So there:)

Again - sorry for typos!!

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a member of the human race.

Then I remember I'm only responsible for my own actions.

Well, well, well, Zara & madein78 (if you're still here). I've just got off the phone with both North Lanarkshire LEA (where the Wishaw primary schools are based) and Norfolk County Council Legal Services.

Representatives of both LEAs confirm that there is not & never has been a ban on the nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep in any school in those areas.

Now, you wouldn't be coming on to AB & telling porkies, would you..?

No, not telling porkies, but someone at NLC is! They will never admit to banning something like that, think about it, that could be construed as manipulating what children think!

lol, ten out of ten for effort fat boy.

With reports like that, I'm afraid the news papers are just as guilty of incitement.

Thanks for that dris, you're right, I'm a man in his late 20's who is a hothead and is brimming with aggression! I will try to control it in future.
Well fatboy whoever you spoke too must have little clue as to what goes on under his or her nose.I can assure you that nursery rhyme WAS an issue and no amount of back tracking by anyone will alter that it WAS.Now run along and phone someone about the weather forecast this week cos it has changed from what they first said eh!........

It's not "PC" ! If you call someone Coloured you are basically saying that they're coloured in comparison to White people (and that being abnormal) Say how it is...Black is black.
