I'm done, apart from two of which I'm sure I've got the answers but can't work out the wordplay -
10 across:Boy taking space in middle of eyrie? (6)
I've got Ernest
12 across: Frank's moral shortcoming becomes a problem for the country (7) I've got Sumatra (which happens to be an anagram of trauma.)
If anyone could give me some explanations I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance

10 ER = the alien [from space]
an eyrie is a NEST, so ER + NEST = ERNEST.
Sinatra ?
12 Your answer should be SINATRA.
Frank = SINATRA.
SIN = moral shortcoming.
..and that's as far as I can get!
Sumatra

Sinatra (remove moral = sin) atra add Problem (Sum)
Or the other way round to give Sinatra ?????

SandyRoe I'm sure the second letter (U) is correct, but I do see the Sinatra link, I wonder what other people have got?
Thank you Bookbinder I kept on trying to fit in 'en' as the space, not 'er'
Otherwise I really enjoyed this crossword.
Emeritus seems to have got it. ^
Re 10 across. surely the alien from space was ET not ER and the way the clue reads something has to go in the middle of eyrie. If space is referring to printing then it could be either en or em.
10 ac. Erne nest - take out en(space) Ernest
