Hi everyone, thought the sum total of everyone’s answers has been amazing. Couldn’t have got the last few without you all.
Word of warning don’t start imagining answers. Image next to mirror globe?Look carefully its the girders! There is no one there. And the Halloween pumpkin is to the right not left as suggested you need 40 answers not 50!
Be logical like Mr Spock and focused but not using Superman’s X ray eyes.
There is a minut bird in the sky, Hitchcocks the Birds, I don’t think so.
The moon could well have been in the shot as the pic was being taken along with the clouds, you don’t imagine Reach for the Sky! Or First Man in the Moon surely? More like Moonraker!
If we go down that road you’ll be putting the Graduate for the marks on the wall. Shipping Forecast for the mic!
Perhaps even the bag just happened to blow across, we are dirty as a nation, or Gone with the Wind!
IF the moon is a co-incidence and the bag stays, there is a clue short.
The text said “Hint: 'The Beach' isn’t one of them” doesn’t mean that “On the Beach” isn’t an option, even “On the Waterfront.” The operative word is “The” v “the.”
For the record the plane is a Lanc I was at the RAF museum yesterday!!! And Memphis Belle was shown on TV last night. Sad an iconic image of the famous WW2 bomber wasn’t recognised instantly.
The ship isn’t Britannic as it always had a different livery, white when it sank as a hospital ship in WW1. The flag on the stern of the Titanic, the blue ensign was as a special privilege not a normal merchant navy flag, many officers in the RNR. Britannic flew the ICRC flag as to denote status, not that it saved it from a torpedo!
I am puzzled by the warrior on the plaque though. Braveheart? No kilt and wrong shaped shield. Similar for Spartacus, is that a poorly sculpted Roman shield? What is the plant in front of him, not a thistle surely?
Well done everyone.
Carlberg had a similar quiz a few years back with Brighton figuring along with St Albans. What’s the betting its from the same brain?
Cant wait till the next similar quiz.
We’ll all know on 3rd March who was correct!
