Just wondering if anyone else is attempting this quiz? I think I have over 30 answers, which I am happy to share if anyone needs help. Stumped on the feather, big pink knickers, red kite, black tower, bbc microphone (thought The King's Speech but mic probably too modern), milk bottle, carrier bag, two stetsons.
Many thanks

The part of the pier that has a different pattern is that of Brighton Pier (check on Google images) so it's not an extra clue to this quiz.
ive got pretty much the same answers as most ,also not sure how you choose between putting Mona Lisa,Mona Lisa smile or the da vinci code!
Could someone please tell me if i can just send the answers in or do they have to be on a postcard as it said in the magazine???seems a bit daft for that many answers. This is my first time doing a radio times quiz :)

Anyone else got alternative suggestions?
I've got an alternative suggested spelling for your number 8!
why are people thinkin its forest gump? i took a look at the feather on forrest gump as its nothing like the one in the pic!

braveheart is more likely gladiater as he has more clothes on in braveheart. am still thinking the red shoes is wizard of oz lol and i really dont like the blue lamp idea at all lol, i got 35 positives, and 5 that i am unsure of lol
I put gladiator for the plaque. It says in the radio times to send your answers on a postcard....surely not for a quiz with 40 answers? Can anyone help,I've never done a radio times one before. Thanks :)
The man in the alcove is "The Elephant Man". I can't work out who the man on the wall represents. He appears to have a mic in his hand. The overall picture could be a clue to "Breaking the Waves". Another suggestion for the baby with the dollars could be "A Fistful of Dollars" but I think "Million Dollar Baby" is a good answer. The black monolith at the end of the sea wall is definitely "2001 A Space Odyssey". As to the sea wall itself it could represent The Cobb at Lyme Regis which is where some of the action took place in "The French Lieutenant's Woman". One of the scenes was actually on The Cobb. I am really puzzled by the floating bag and the bicycle in the sky - top left. What does the moon (top right) depict? The moon is out in the middle of the day. Does anyone know which film this is? As to the helicopters there were a lot of these in a James Bond film - I can't remember which one. The Lady walking on the pier (left) - is it Mrs Thatcher ("The Iron Lady") or "The Queen" or someone entirely different?
Hi liznocton. There is a film called "Tightrope". Do you have "Million Dollar Baby" for the baby with the money? Another possibility is "A Fistful of Dollars". The baby is making fists with his hands.
I wonder if the whole picture could represent "Breaking the Waves".
What does the bicycle in the sky (top left) represent? Why is the moon (top right) out in broad daylight? Do you know which film this is please?
the bike in sky is ET lol
Million Dollar Baby Trainspotting The Elephant Man The colour of the Tan steston is not right for BrokeBack Mountain it is dark brown? The helicopters are Hueys so think M*A*S*H
filbertfox11: There's nothing wrong with the moon being out during the day. It's a quite common occurrence.

Looking at my list again I've realised that I haven't included the rope. So if Catch-22 is right, after looking closer I'm not so sure of that one, I've got 41 answers.
Another good quiz ruined.
How about Paper Moon? Could the stone plaque on the wall be The Name of the Rose (maybe bit obscure for well-known) it probably is Gladiator. Could the Canadian flag represent Niagara (tenuous, I know). There's a fairground scene in The Third Man. Not sure about Kite Runner but can't think what else could be. The union jack flag could be Spy Who Loved Me, or Austin Powers.

Where does it say "on a postcard" not on page 5.
The rules on page 138 are general but still say not for all competitions.
Man on bike, check out ET.
Moon out in the day? Not unusual its out often. Look up when you haven't seen it at night.
Could also be Beowulf or Man For All Seasons on stone tablet. ''Well known' is thrown off a bit by likes of 'Tom Jones' and 'Blue Lamp'. Is the planet Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back? Don't seem to be any other sequels (prequels? Whatever it's classed as now). I think Dambusters is more well known than Memphis Belle. I'm going for Mona Lisa rather than Da Vinci...RT can't be that mean.

Angela C
Folks think about this, has not every clue been ADDED to the picture? The fun fair has always been at the end of Brighton Pier and so to the flags fly as normal. If you can recognise the Canadian flag what about the one beyond which is also semi obsured?
This theory rules out the "Moon" but with it "On the Beach!"
The "lady" is so, so obviously the Queen, our Head of State no less, she has been on the news a lot recently too wearing similar attire.
oops, sorry 'bout no 8. late night typing.......
ok, It just says to send your list of 40 titles, along with your name, address and telephone
number, to RT BIG FILM QUIZ, PO BOX 501, LEICESTER, LE94 OAA
The helicopters are Hueys but you only ever saw one in Mash and they were fitted with stretchers.
The red shoes in The Wizard of Oz were sparkly, These are just red, so I plumped for the Red Shoes.
The plane has to be the Lancaster from the Dambusters as it has the bouncing bomb under the plane.
The Star wars film has to be Return of the Jedi based on the condition of partly built planet.
Quizmonkey, why another good quiz ruined.? I have had great fun doing it and getting help from everyone else here. You worried about the competition?
good luck everyone.
