Greetings from Snowy Nungate Towers.
A warm welcome awaits any Mad Over Fifty who braves the elements this cold winter night. For your entertainment this evening we are finally able to have the Ice Skating Gala, postponed from last week, so it's everyone down to the frozen lake later this evening. For tonight's hot plate special we have that old favourite Potage Bonne Femme - yes we managed to find another good woman! In addition, we also have a heartwarming hot pot, and the usual offerings of volly vonts and horses doovers and on the pudding trolley is a clootie dumpling with lashings of lovely custard!
In addition to their usual samplings of madrigals and toccattas, the minstrels will be playing a selection of Alice Cooper's greatest hits, and a small chamber orchestra have secreted themselves in the garden pavilion to provide the music for the ice skating. Also on offer by the lake will be mulled wine and all manner of hot drinks. Tonight's tailcock the "Snowglobe flurry" will only be available within the Towers as it is a somewhat potent brew, and we do not wish any of our guests to be seeing pink penguins within the Towers' grounds.
For the rofl we have an interesting selection of snow shovels and gritting salt
Goodness me, I step out for a moment to check on some "domestic issues" and the Towers have filled up in my absence!
Thanks for checking the birth certs Tony, I suppose since we allow Queenofmean in, we should quibble too much (mind you she does live here)
Hello Mammar, and Big Mac nice to see you both. Alwaysconfused - don't make a habit out of sneaking in just knock and ask for Igor, he will decide if you are to be admitted in future.
Tone - if it won't upset Minty and Gness, next week I'll bring some just for you. Am a bit afraid the two aforementioned Amazons will think I'm setting my cap at you
it's a wee bit cold outside this evening, sparkles........far better off in here getting plastered (unless you are a good, righteous person like sibs and me....)
Is that "Bohemian Rhapsody" I can hear coming from the Skatin' Lake?
That's going to tax a few of us, keeping time with that.
I hope Igor has a few electric blankets with extra-long cables to keep us warm out there.
