MM Links Solutions August [Week 4]

This fourth and final week of the eventful reign of Queen Alibobs contained a heartfelt tribute that was not easily disguised and I can now reveal that the Link Words chosen by Alibobs were:

Old ENGLISH
Blue MOON
Eyes RIGHT
Frank INCENSE

This was another bumper week for scoring and all four Link Words were located by the time we reached Entrant #9 ~ that is within three minutes of the words being posted! And what an exciting finish with frontrunner, Jools , pulling a ZERO score at a time when three others were scoring FOUR big points.

Well, last week�s crystal-ball gazer paulineward struck again by predicting three of the words to be linked and hitting home with two correct links in EYES RIGHT and FRANKINCENSE! This scored FOUR Points to add to her previous total of NIL Points. This must make her �Hot Shot of the Week�!
*** THREE CHEERS FOR MYSTIC MEG! ***

In the very next minute evsajo struck home with BLUE MOON and ulysses100 fancied OLD ENGLISH (and EYES RIGHT) to be another FOUR Pointer (to bring his total to Seven Points) Jools� Nine points were still holding firm!

The other FOUR Pointer was freebi 2. who scored with two hits within the required two minutes to score a running total of Eight Points (How close was that!). Good scores from Christiana, Chiefpanda & devadiva were not quite good enough! There was one contender left who had a chance to rob Jools of her crown and that was ex-champion rogerr who HAD Six Points and went for FRANKINCENSE within the required two minutes! This was to bring her total to Eight Points and close off one of the hottest battles for first place in the history of MM Links.

The Final League Table for August

6 Points: cliffyg, devadiva, FoxLee & sarumite
5 Points: bridgenut, Chiefpanda, Pebbles & wickedtongue

Thus ends a �glorious� reign of Queen Alibobs. She says �It has been a gas!�. I say �If that is so, it must have been Nitrous Oxide�!

Next week, we will have a new worthy champion wearing her �Crown Jools� and a replacement scorer, whilst Mrs Crofter (Val) and I will be in Tenerife! Until we meet again, this is your (t)rusty scorer, crofter signing off for an extended leave and looking forward to seeing what skulduggery I can get up to over the next fortnight!

Well done Jools, a worthy successor to the title of Amswerbank Links Queen, although I feel your title has to be Crown Jools!

And well done to Pauline for her perceptiveness in solving the clues - I have often thought Pauline reminds me of me during her various postings. She hasn't mentioned the Dragonfly Quiz for at least 5 minutes either!

And my abdication speech would not be complete without a huge cheer for Crofter - my very own Prince Charming who does so much behind the scenes to ensure the links run smoothly. Have a well deserved holiday Crofter and thank you xxx

Oh, my goodness - And I thought I had blown it - Just couldn't think this week when I saw the words. Then I lost the page - I was on my sons laptop with no mouse attachment, just the pressure pad thingy. If I didn't touch it right it went mad. Well thats my excuse anyway. :-) Thanks Alibobs and crofter - 'Crown Jools' eh! Well it's better than some of the things I've been called. :-)

Well!! I've just got in from a walk with the dogs! What a surprise!! Hotshot of the week!! Bit late in the day though...not scored all month!!!

thank you Queen Alibobs for a fascinating month - the fact that I scored nil, again!!!! takes nothing away from the challenge

Dear crofter - I trust both you and Mrs crofter will have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Tenerife, particularly if by now you've managed to convince yourself that you are in fact NOT a JCB !!!! hallucinating again ?? leave that weird green stuff alone !!!
