MM and KM Links February 2010 [Week 1]
14 Answers
Well, the New Year started in fine form. Even the weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the clan of AB Linkers, everywhere! However, the temporary absence of Pauline has subdued the Friday Night antics of the Shrubbery Squad and we all wish her a speedy recovery. Nevertheless, the number of predictors each weekend approaches a healthy 40 on a regular basis and scoring is generally quite brisk. Even evsajo is scoring well!
Last month, "new blood" centrino landed the MM jackpot after an entertaining month of Linkwords set by the Regal Rosalyn. Dustybun wonders what title I will create for centrino. Senator, perhaps? Not so! Centrino’s proper name is Philip, so I’m going for “Prince Philip” in the hope that he will be as entertaining as his namesake. All I will say is that centrino hails from Burton on Trent.

(I wonder if the Palace reads our Links comments?) The first week always contains an unknown factor and we are (more or less) in the hands of the gods. However, his posting should open tomorrow morning at 8.45am and his four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points!
Of course, you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz”. Last month, seekeerz scored a very impressive SIX Points on MM Links (matching centrino’s final score) but as an ex-MM Champion, she has to give way to new blood!
As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards. Over the last weeks, we have welcomed four newcomers ~ some of whom have found early success with their predictions.
Until I see you tomorrow ~ “Happy Linking”!

Evening crofter and everyone else.
Well 'his nibs' has gone off to the pub so I have the place to myself.
We have at last got rid of the white stuff and I'm hopeful I won't see any more this winter. As we are off to Florida and Panama on Tuesday I only have a few days to last without it. I know the kids love it but when one is frightened of falling and causing serious damage, it becomes a problem.
I'm hoping to contribute during February to MM and KM as I'm taking my netbook with me but will obviously will be later posting, so no bonus points for me.
All the best to everyone.
I'll raise the odd glass to everyone whilst I'm enjoying a sundowner overlooking the Gulf in, I hope, temperatures of 25+.
Cheers all

Hello Pauline, hope all goes well with your recovery, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hi Twix123, shall I send a bit of heat over to your course? I don't normally play during the winter - the old arthritic limbs tend to seize up. Himself has been suffering from withdrawal symptoms and has been a bit ratty. Never mind when we get to Florida the sticks will be out and we will be tackling the greens in the warmth!!
