There's any interesting article in todays Dail Mail relating to the late Prince Phillip's belief in UFO's.  I remember listening to an interview with Neil Armstrong who said the the late Prince asked to meet the crew of Apollo 11 when they did their tour. Armstrong said that all Phillip was interested was whether the crew had seen any flying saucers or anything that could not be explained.

Do other's have their views or seen anything that could be described as a UFO.

who called you a moron? i think you did that.

No I simply misread your post, re-reading it.

BTW this isn't the end it's just the beginning.

end off... hmm

I didn't misread TTT's post.  Loosely translated it means anyone who disagrees with him is a moron.  Nothing changes.

I have no Beef with TTT, in fact I find some of his posts mildly interesting.

TORATORATORA
"1) The universe is vast and teaming with aliens

2) The distances invovled mean we will never meet or communicate with any of them.

3) if you doubt 1 or 2 you are a moron"

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has been happening seriously since the 1960s. Were those looking for evidence, morons?

NASA contributed towards a SETI study in 1971. Are the folk at NASA morons?

The SETI Institute was established in November 1984. Are members there, morons?

Arksided, I have no beef with TTT either.  I would call anyone out who thinks he knows it all.

TTT, contradicted himelf with no. 3... without any known facts.

I don't doubt 1 or 2... but it's TTT. and mis-read it. look again.

It's very easy to debunk things that you may not understand, or not want to understand. Think back a couple of hundred years or so, and tell people that one day men will walk on the moon, we will send space crafts to visit other planets, that we will explore space and send crafts to far ends of the solar system (voyager 1 and 2). That we would robotic machines on Mars sending back pictures.  If you said that back then you would have been put in the looney bin.  Look how fast our knowledge has developed over the last century, and is still developing.  How will learn over the 200 - 300 years?

Stephen Hawking wisely pointed out that if there are other beings in the unverse, we'd be well advised to steer clear of them, because as our own experiences on this planet has shown, whenever a more advanced society came in contact with a lesser on it always was a disaster for those who were 'discovered', both for their society & their health.

Aliens have visited Earth, but couldn't find intelligent life, so they went to Iapetus.

09:11 all those things are feasible from the outset even if the ability to do them is absent at the time it is concieved.

We could not comminicate effectively with someone even at the nearest star. Even if we did invent FTL it's still far too slow. The distances are vast most cannot even imagine.

take the first radio transmission, about 127 years ago, suppose that left the earth, it's travelled 127 light years. The galaxy is 100,000 light years across. In galactic terms we have not reached beyond our front porch in 127 years.

It never ceases to amaze me that some people seem to think that in the pursuit of progress and knowledge, man has reached his peak.  There are plentiful accounts and depictions of flying vehicles to be had in ancient texts and artworks - and they come from all over the world.  I have no doubt that something very strange was going on in the dim and distant past - and the clues are there if only we ditch our arrogance, climb off our high horses, and take the trouble to look.

Oh my!

Drakes equation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation

“Still, statistically the probability that there are other thinking beings out there is good. Nobody knows how many stars there are in the Milky Way – estimates range from a hundred billion or so to perhaps four hundred billion – and the Milky Way is just one of a hundred and forty billion or so other galaxies, many of them even larger than ours. In the 1960s, a professor at Cornell named Frank Drake, excited by such whopping numbers, worked out a famous equation designed to calculate the chances of advanced life existing in the cosmos, based on a series of diminishing probabilities. Under Drake’s equation you divide the number of stars in a selected portion of the universe by the number of stars that are likely to have planetary systems; divide that by the number of planetary systems that could theoretically support life; divide that by the number on which life, having arisen, advances to a state of intelligence; and so on. At each such division, the number shrinks colossally – yet even with the most conservative inputs the number of advanced civilizations just in the Milky Way always works out to be somewhere in the millions.”

― Bill Bryson, A Short History of Nearly Everything

It's a sobering thought that hundreds of programmes of Coronation Street are zooming out into deep space, & all in the correct sequence.

Astronomers think intelligent life is common but biologists point out that it's taken us 3.8 billion years to get here. Without the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs, we might not be here at all.

yep all of these star systems will soon be getting the first episode of corrie, luck LGMs

I saw something one clear night that took my breath away. I was actually watching for shooting stars and the Elon Musk Star Link train, when a bright light streaked across the sky, from SW to NE in about 2 seconds. Unbelieveable. What was it? I don't know.

However, I can't remember who said this, but when you've eliminated all the hoaxes, the hub cap photos, the doctored photos etc, what you have left is the American military.
