Boxtops, It doesn't - and I have to disagree with that statement anyway - but I'm not telling you why. Ahhhhhhhh..........

;o)

No one apparently . . . who else?
merlotman - thats true, which is why we all think we take terrible photo's!!
If we leave video and sound recording equipment in a room with a mirror and then go hundreds of miles away for a couple of days, then the video will show what was in the mirror while we were away and will also record any sounds such as the birds outside etc.
This is enough evidence for me that things exist and sounds are there even when I am away.
It's why some people wear clashing colours - your perception of red and yellow may not be the same as mine!
the dave.f. is way off-beam. If light did not exists with no-one to see it then photo-electric cells would not work; no photographs would be taken unless you were looking at the same scene with your eyes; no recording device would work during the night when no-one was awake to hear the sounds it was recording.
Ah, the arroganceof human beings...
The apparent presence of images in a mirror is a construct of the human eye and brain, the image is in your eye, not in the mirror, so the answer is nothing, or everything..

Oh wrap it up with the melodramatic act okay.

Recording equipment does not SEE anything, the camera PHYSICALLY records stuff, it is still our EYES that see the printed photo.

YEA PIXI TOTALLY
You're missing the point Dave! The fact that recording equipment registers an image means that the mirror is still working when you are away.
dave, you should read your own posts sometimes. You said that light and sound are nothing unless there is someone there to see and hear them. I repeat that if that were true then photocells would not work to operate things remotely even though nobody actually sees the light. And those nocturnal recorders would still record the sounds even if no-one ever heard them. This is all so obvious that it is hardly worth saying for a second time.

The earth has existed for 5000,000,000 years, during which it has produced vast amounts of light and sound. To suggest that they did not exist until puny little man came along only last week is...well, if you don't like 'arrogance' then how about 'presumption'?
Question Author
@chakka35 it's not LIGHT or SOUND tho IS IT. NO. Light and sound, in the absence of eyes and ears, is only energy. It only becomes sound when you hear it and it only becomes light when you see it, how can they be defined as light and sound without someone seeing and hearing them. expand your mind man
Mere wordplay. The light and sound still exists whether anyone registers them or not.
A man is standing in the middle of a forest voicing his thoughts and opinions out loud.
If there isn't a woman around to hear him......is he still wrong?
Question Author
@squarebear you don't seem to understand that sound only becomes sound when it hits the eardrum and is filtered through the ear to the brain - before that, it's not sound, because there is no process to make a sound if there is no ear.
The idea that something doesn't exist because there's no being with eyes or ears to see / hear it is preposterous.
Of course, I think he is just arguing for the sake of it.
