I don't know why I get so depressed at this time of the year .My dear old dad has been gone 35 years soon ...that always makes me sad ....brings back memories .I think it's just the dark and the dull and the bl&&dy aches and pains that make you realise we are not immortal . Your snowdrops are peeping through Robinia ....roll on summer !!

yep, like you say it's a combination of physical & emotional lows but daylight does have a bigger effect on some people than others...my doc, to my surprise, is very supportive of SAD. Some GPs aren't.

I seem to remember it was a one off thing ...it wasn't Brimstone and Treacle and it wasn't all that long ago. Mind you ..all that long ago ....could be donkeys year ago ! Time is another mystery.. ..where does it go !
Also why after running a home for donkeys years ,bringing up children and holding down jobs at the same time ,do men seem to think you are incapable of switching the dishwasher on or whipping up a yorkshire pud without interfering ?

Evening Biddies - how can you all feel miserable now? it's mid-winter and I love it. Now I am depressed in August and need a dark box. Have just packed up my Belen (creche - which is a sop to the catholic country in which I live). Have caught Mr N's raging cold and feel miserable only for this reason, so may be away from Biddydom for a couple of days. Back to normal tomorrow thank heavens.
I took me deccies down today,that bloomin tree they promised the needles wouldnt drop..! they were lying.Me son went back to cambridge this mornin and I was feelin a bit peed off......Then I found a chocolate reindeer under my bar...um yummy...think it was me daughters...finders keepers..(:O)somebody told me that sense and senseabilty

Earlier today I was at my local deli (down my street - how lucky am I) to buy French prunes from St.Dalfour, they're seriously addictive, just watch out for the pits though, ye of frail teeth. (Goes for me too.)
How are yours, Vinny? Oh and if you could just cover your ears for a while (and jno you cover at least one of yours I think) I'll cheer the sad ladies up with this image:
You remember Vinny told us there was a flat screen showing surfing on the ceiling at his dentist's, well that eventually brought the memories back for me of a visit to my gynaecologist's where I suddenly found myself staring at the weirdest object on the ceiling above me as I lay there with my legs in the air. It was round and had concentric circles in different colours and I suspect it was supposed to be some kind of mandala, to make you feel all relaxed and centered and not kick the doc. But the thing is, it was crocheted, so it really only looked like a pot holder! And even if it had looked like a mandala, the placement was so odd, it was as if somebody had been flipping pancakes and missed.... I just started laughing...

morning...feels like a'noon...I've been up for hooouuurrrs, bloomin' noisy weather. If you didn't have birds yesterday shaney you'll have mine today...along with wheelie bins, plant pots, trees, & possibly a chimbley or two. It's horrendous! Even Charlie has gone back to bed which is unusual - he never gets in it during the day.

It's blowing a gale here too .Still no sign of the birds but I don't blame them in this lot .
I have a face like a balloon ,my wobbler has developed a full grown abcess by the feel of it so I shall have to make an appointment with the butcher .
