sweltering here too and muggy. Have just cooked coro chicken, pot salad (with coriander) and Ensaladilla (a type of russian salad) and a mixed salad, it was yummy. Am now watching yesterday's soaps in bed chewing on a fruit gum!!

Can rest for 2 days as hija is off, so I can have the car!! (not that I want it, it's just there if I do!)

Hi all I've not deserted you I've just had a busy 2 days. I wont bore you with the details it was just Car Insurance and Spectacles. Dashing about here and there.
I've been really sweltering these last 2 days and have been taking my little 'do it myself fan' out with me. It was so hot on the buses. I didn't care that I got some funny looks.
I'm pleased you had a good day yesterday Woofy and hope you get through tomorrow alright.
I'm going to watch UC on iPlayer Shaney as I keep forgetting. My friend had to remind me last night about Johnny Depp in a film on 5. It was called The 9th Gate. Supernatural but really good. He is such a good actor.
Has Mr S heard any more about his op yet.
Your meal sounds lovely Neti. I've eaten out today and had a broc and tomato and cheese bake. Doesn't sound as good as yours. Today was the first time I've used my car since last Friday. I've been walking and bussing everywhere.

I've had my 15 mins. of fame today as I had a photo and letter in the local paper about my white tail-feathered Blackie. The photo isn't of me :¬) Thank goodness.
I'm off now getting quite tired as I've been in the garden this evening as well. Not done any more digging just general tidying up and combining 2 piles of rubbish and putting it in a less conspicuous place until I can fill a brown bin with it.

morning all..it's like magic, as soon as I clock on in here the bloomin phone rings.

haha, I've been a pale shade of Norfolk for the past two days, headache came back with avengeance again yesterday so pleeeeease.. <looks skyward>.. not another day of it. Just washed me barnet so that's made me feel a bit better.

Lottie, re the fibromyalgia - No, there's no blood test for it, it's just a case of eliminating other possibilities and then it's officially diagnosed by a rheumatologist. I often have flu symptoms but up to now I don't think there's been any evidence of RA, just the 'ordinary' arthritis which I have to say is getting worse. :o(

Hope you're all tottering along as well as possible...I don't have the local paper anymore but I know a woman who does, hope she hasn't been using it to swat flies, haha. Oh, speaking of flies, there seems to be a plague of hoverflies at the moment, luckily they're a good thing.

They're flies wat 'ovver neti :o)...they look like small skinny wasps, are good for keeping down the aphids & pollinating flowers

Oh no, not an ant invasion, better keep an eye on my kitchen, I've had them coming in the past two years. We did have a lot of flying ones last week, hopefully they've all gone abroad to cool off.

Morning All. Another stressful morning over Car Insurance. 4 phone calls and about and hour later and I think things are now sorted. Don't ever use OneCallDirect! :(
I have shorts on at the mo I'm so warm but I think I might just put trousers on to go shopping. I can never understand it cos if I was away on holiday I'd wear shorts.
SOTD Shaney I didn't even bother counting but it was a good contest. One of the best I've seen for a while.
Robi - my viola seeds haven't shown any signs of life at the mo but I shall keep hoping. Also I have put the plant with a flower on it into a 'quiet' corner of my garden. Do you think it has a chance of survival! She asks doubtfully!
Neti I can never have a lie in no matter what time I go to bed. the latest I get up is around 7. I think it's because I've always had to get up early for work. Between 5.30 and 7.00 all the time, depending on shift and job.

I hope all of you have a good day with special thoughts for Mr W and Woofy at the mo.

I usually get up about 9.30 if I have no taxi service to perform. Awake at 8am and on laptop , watching Sky news on TV and having a cuppa.

The humidity here today is almost 100%, which means it is so wet but not actually raining, so sticky, everyone in town is mopping themselves and dawdling along. Had a shower and couldn't even get dry, unbearable.

Hoverflies, not sure if we get them or not. If it looks like a wasp then I've probably dived for cover before insecting said insect!
