How nice she looks in simple dresses which show her good figure. Why does she spoil it all in her wedding outfits.

Morning folk. Busy morning sorting out things. Have decided to stay in glory hole for the day because at 23 degrees it feel positively cold to everywhere else. I did venture out to get some runner beans at 9.00am and the heat was unbearable. Bites are itching. Glory hole is full of paperwork that needs sorting, so am going to make a real effort.

Glad Mr W is coping, Woofie.

Thanks Robi re fibromyalgia. I have an appointment with doctor on 15th August and will discuss it all with him.

I am about to shower and put on my Spanish cheese cloth big baggy purple sundress without any underwear. The best way I have to keep cool!!!

Keep cool all you Red Hot Biddy Peppers!!

xx

apparently the reason people wear burkhas in the desert is that the air inside them heats up and sucks in cooler air from outside and this creates a sort of draught circulating around your nether limbs.
and I read yonks ago and Mr N disagrees, they wear black a) cos of a death and b) it does not attract the sun, once it has absorbed some sun, there's no more, wheareas white attracts constantly. whether this is true or not I do not know.
re black/white clothes I heard that white reflects heat, therefore it will reflect heat back to your body on the inside whereas black absorbs & draws heat away. I wouldn't think there'd be any difference once the temperature gets over a certain point...sweaty is sweaty whatever colour you wear.
I agree Robi no matter what colour in this country hot is hot and we're not used to it. I'm so hot today I just can't get cracking so since I came back from shopping I've put my shorts on and just dossed about and my new gardening gloves are still in the packet. :¬)
We've had about 2mins of rain. Did you spot it (pardon the pun) Robi? They reckon it's going to rain tonight.

I was always taught that white clothes reflected the heat away and black absorbed it, therefore white for hot weather.

Now I am confused.
That was interesting Lottie! I'm confused too.
Just strip off completely :)
I've flopped in the garden all day and read a book . I won't tell you what I was wearing but it was very little :) Freddy the Frog hit 35C.
It's cooled down a bit now though ,dark skies and a couple of flashes of lightning just now . Supposed to drop down to 19C tomorrow .No wonder I ache .
Hope you've all had a good day .Pip pip for now and good luck for Mr Woofy tomorrow .
It's cooling down a bit here now. Thank goodness. Hope your head ache is subsiding Robi.
didn't get to see my elderly aunt and Uncle the other day so am going tomorrow for the day. If it's not so hot I'll walk cos I haven't had much exercise for the last few days.
Have a good night everybiddy. See yer later....
..or just carry on wearing purple crimplene, same as always. :o)

Still a clear sky here but I did spot the spots Jude :o) I think there were 6 per slab. My head's been better today thanks, just a twinge or two...it's all gawn into my legs now so I'll probably be wafting them about all night. It's a good thing I sleep alone.
Hope you all sleep well...don't start wandering in here in the nuddy :o)
white reflects heat and black soaks it up, as far as I know, but the point of the burkhas is to get the air circulating under it, because a gentle breeze helps cool you more than still air, whether hot or cold. It doesn't work for mini-burkhas, only maxis, but Lottie's probably on the right track. I am not sure which part of the Koran says all this, so please don't report me to R&S.
Right I shall go and by a burkha :)
Thing is, will they recognise me in the library ?
Bloomin' power went off here shortly before nine and just come on again .I had to stumble about with a torch and find the Prices Candles .What a game .

But ,I had time to watch a Time to Remember at 8.00pm. which deserved more than half an hour .All about the emancipation of women ,the suffragettes etc with commentary by Edith Evans and dear old Joyce Grenfell .Very interesting
Morning biddies. The women here who wear burkahs, also wear leggings underneath so I bet the air doesn't circulate there!!

Sitting in bed, with my cuppa and watching Sky news, the cat has just come in to sleep on my legs!
Morning dessicated followers of fashion...not so dry here now, it's raining & has been for some time...no, hang on it's stopped. Oh whatever, la mode du jour looks like a plastic mac...might need the fan to disperse the steam :o)

Anyone a millionaire today? No, me neither... in which case, KBO...

Gentle rain now after yesterday evening's lovely thunder storms. I really enjoy a good storm and we sat in the conservatory watching it for an hour or so.

Going out now. Just putting on my leggings and my burka. At least the burka with hide my bites. Wonder what reaction I will get in a rural garden centre in Norfolk!!! I have never seen a burkah in our town, not ever, never.
had a dream last night (this morning) that I was riding my motorbike, and saw myself in a shop window (reflection) and I was young, wearing white denim shorts, a blue top with a white bag across my chest, then strangely I had to stop and put my left foot down and it scraped on the gravel and hurt, then I woke up and my left foot was scraping along the carpet and yes it stung for a but!
Mornin all. Just a very quick call in to say hello then I'm off to meet my Sis to go visiting. Then lunch in town. Raining here which I am pleased about - don't forget 'some people feel the rain etc' à la Bob Dylan.
I have to KBO too no luck on the Lottery.
Laters 'gater(s) Have a good day and thinking about Mr W especially x
