I couldn't possibly be compared to a summers day today . I could be compared to a crumpled paper bag though .
Those are lovely pictures Jno ,all bright and cheerful unlike the view of my dripping wet washing and the drizzle .
I used to shop on line Robinia from Sainsburys and I have shopped on line with Asda When we were both at work and so on ...It's alright ..but....I found out it's not that good for fresh stuff .If it's your bad luck to get a grumpy picker you'll have ham that goes out of date the following day and only five minutes to eat your custards :) I found it useful for bulky heavy stuff mainly like washing powder ,dog food ,dry goods ,tins of sdns etc .I don't shop on line now though as we have everything on the doorstep and the child will run me to out of town places If I beg and cook a roast :)
Nice to see our Dolly again.
I went shopping yesterday and bought a few Christmas bits and bought myself two pairs of PJ's .One pair are very swish with sparkly thread :) Mr S said not to answer the door to the postman in them :)
I'm off out again tomorrow to meet a friend in Norwich .Perhaps we'll bump into one another Lofty :))
I need to peek at those bags for my sis in law and find a book shop that sells Crossword Lists books .. WH Smith is useless in Yarmouth .I bought the schoollfriends pashminas in the end .
Kalanchoes are a really tolerant house plant Jude .Even I can't kill them :)
Thanks shaney and Lottie. The info on that site was just what I needed. I will do my best to look after it.
I used to talk to the Home Shoppers at Sainsburys when I was at work and they used to moan sometimes cos the goods weren't always in stock and they had to choose something else to send which didn't always go down well with the customer. I've sent for 2 Christmas pressies off the internet and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they arrive before Christmas. A DVD from Asda which can only be bought on line and a CD from Amazon which can't be got in the UK and has to come from America
Haha Jude ..I remember getting my order from Sainsburys once and I had ordered Matzos and I got Mazda lightbulbs instead !
Oven is stinking the house out, thought I'd better burn it off and it's awful, although all the trays and sheves are very clean!
Love the new logo!!!!
Asda over biddyford delivers here now and there very good. The first time I ordered food online from sainsburys I got 5 bags of bloody bananas.(:O)
Oh nooo Neti ..I've got a box of that Oven Pride stuff. It was on special at Lidls a while back . I shoved it in the cupboard under the sink and it's still there !
My oven badly needs cleaning .It says you can put the oven grids in a bag and it gets all the gunge off etc .Does it stink that bad ?
Oh gawd. I hate cleaning the oven ....but I suppose I shall have to make an effort at some stage.
Lampwick's tooooo busy polishing my tiaras and can't possibly tear himself away.
I think he has crafty sips of gin while I 'm not looking :)
Shaney my packet had been under the sink for 2yrs, and yes the shelves etc go into a zip-up plastic bag with some of the liquid and leave for 4hrs, they were really clean, but the stuff is so caustic it really hurts on the skin (and I'm used to handling hydroclyric acid). Bag gets very runny so I did it all outside cos it drips everywhere which isn't too good for floors. I then popped all the shelves into the (rarely used cos it's outside and gives me a shock) dishwasher on hot and hey presto quite good results. Trouble is I couldn't find clear instructions so just used the whole bottle on the oven and shelves. Was pleased with it though I must say. Be warned it is messy!!

Get scrubbing mrs s!!

And then I started on all the shelves and cupboards with dirt erasers fron Tchibo, and they are also very good, did all the tiles too. Oh what a day, my hands are killing me and all nails have gone!!!! I thought I had washed it all off of me and changed my clothes to serve dinner, before I have my hot bath and bed, but Mr N was staring at a very dirty streak on my arm. As my hair takes so long to dry (I won't use a dryer - makes hair very big!) I wore an old shower cap to clean the oven with!
Hello Bards and Biddies. One of my favourite daydreams is being able to invite ole Will to visit our century and show him his plays on film, on stage, on the telly... and last but not least to show him how to work a computer. He'd love everything about our time, I'm sure of it.

Beautiful photos jno - and lot's of pegging halfway-out going on in one of them Valletta bay windows. BTW jno I don't know if you remember this but years ago I was telling y'all about Clas Ohlson - and I quote Wikpedia: "a Swedish chain store that sells, amongst other things, hardware, electrical, multimedia, and home and leisure products. It is the largest hardware chain in Scandinavia" ...and I said to keep an eye out as they were going to open up shop in the London area. Well they have now; you really must go there, they have EVERYTHING you need around the house. Swedes have a nickname for it, we call it 'codgergarten' (cf. kindergarten) but everybody I know loves it, whether they be man or woman, practical or impractical. I think it's the feeling you get that everything can be fixed, mended, whole, shiny and new... http://www.clasohlson...tartPageProducts.aspx

Erm, in case none of you got it (you didn't oh and ah) that piccy was THE ACTUAL PUPPY. The one. I tagged her photo in one of sis' Facebook albums with "pig's eyelashes" he he, but to tell you the truth I think she's adorable <3

Oh well it looks as if I shall have to wear my green wellies, rubber gloves and Yorkshire Tea pinny to do the ruddy oven a la Margo Leadbetter. My nails are bad enough in spite of buffering , filing and copious amounts of hand cream :) I draw the line at shower caps Neti. They won't fit over my tiara .

That is the actual pup Kit ? Little sweetie .I'd love another dog but it's out of the question as much as I plead to Mr S .He who must be obeyed... he say big fat NO !! He's quite right of course but I live in hope :)

Ah yes.. talking about Malta and Valleta I have never been to Malta but have some age old photos of that fort place from my Dad when he was there in around 1927. An orphan of the storm .....they look like something out of It Ain't Half Hot Mum and somebody can't spell orphans :))

Makes note in diary for when I next go London ...Codgers Garden ? Should suit us down to the ground :)
Croydon? Reading? Gee, these guys go straight for the great retail hubs. When they actually reach civilisation I shall pay them a visit, Kit.

So, shaney, those are the Knights of St John I heard so much about in Valletta? A very fearsome bunch, to be sure, and I think I see how they drove off the Terrible Turks.
Hello all, sorry for the long absence. I have been agonising over having dental implants and didn't feel much like talking. Anyway yesterday I went and had them done...feel (and look like) Joe Bugner today but its over (the surgical bit) and the terrors have gone. It wasn't comfortable but not nearly as bad as I expected. Feeling flakey on painkillers and preventive antibis so going back to bed now and will be back later
Well done woofy, was going to leave you a message of FB, hope you are feeling (and smiling) better today.

Morning all - no cleaning today, it's our 35th wedding anniversary, but we are going out tomorrow night.
Congratulations neti and Mr.N. Well done ! Enjoy your night out . I knew you were young enough to be my daughter .Love your photos of you and your family. .
Jno I thought your photos are great too ,it's lovely that I dont have to move far to see all these great places .my eldest brother was married to a Maltese lady and they would go to Malta every year for a holiday.
Thank you to everyone for your welcome back home messages ,good to be back .Hope all your bulbs flower next year Jude ,you'll have to post a photo or two .I used to love gardening but afraid it's getting too physical for me now and too hot ! I just potter around .
My daughter-in-law took me Christmas shopping yesterday while Mr.D .went to Bowls ,had a lovely morning with her ,bought presents (as per wanted list) for the 3 youngest grandchildren ages 10,16 and 19 .Must get started on the overseas Christmas cards soon and get the Christmas decorations up and the tree .
Bye for now love Dolly xx
Afternoon each. A bit dull and wet here. The bin men are rattling about. It's brown and blue bin and paper collection today.

What a brill Shakespeare sketch Kit had me laughing that's for sure. My eldest son teaches Shakespreare amongst other literature and one Christmas he bought me a book explaining all his plays and words in a language I can understand.

Hello Woofy good to see you, and Dolly nice to see you again and in full flow.

Been to the Dr. again today and he's given me a paper to go for repeat blood tests at the and of January. apparently it's because I take a certain type of pill for Colitis which means they have to check blood every now and again.

I have now been for my induction at a local school and am now just waiting for times and days when I begin helping the children to read. Quite looking forward to it.

Hope you are all having a good day
See yer later 'gater(s) x
When I finished that post the sun began to come out so we may have a bright afternoon.
Afternoon, biddies and big congrats to Neti and Mr N. You know, I could tell when we met at the restaurant a couple of years ago that you two were right for each other http://i45.tinypic.com/2prej3m.jpg (he he! the picture is a joke but I meant what I SAID).

And while I'm at it, I found you a new place to live, Shaney http://i48.tinypic.com/k39hye.jpg Oh I hope you get your dog in the end, why is Mr S being cruel. Can you not bribe 'the child' to take long walks with the dog...?

Yes isn't it a brilliant sketch Jude - "waiting in the wings with that very funny codpiece" ha ha ha ha! If you know where it is, I would love the name of that book and the author please - sounds like something I too could use. Good luck with your new job! xx

And Woofy well done!
Neti I'm sorry I forgot to wish you and your other half a very happy anniversary. Enjoy your night out tonight. Love Jude x
