Lavender Oil

Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

If you can, use dried lavender. It's much nicer, and doesn't smell fake/sickly like the oils can :-)

Thanks for your reply Bluestone...I've got lots of dried lavender, I grow it in my own garden but I didn't think it would be ok to repeatedly microwave it...I wouldn't want my heat pack to suddenly turn into a burning hot pack! :)

Baldwin's of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

How, here I am. I don't mind lavender but hope it's not too strong, it is a bit biddyish isn't it. I like pachouli, but then I would.

Oh lawdy are all those Little muslin bags to be stuffed with 'er homegrown lavender, knew there'd be some snag to living here!!!

Have woken up with a huge fat swollen eye and no Mr N hasn't lost patience with me! It was sore yesterday when I was putting on mllage out so cannot do the bed washing as planned! I hate bonfires!

Morning all...dull and mild again. There was a bird singing his heart out, they must think it's spring but they're in for a shock.
Well this therapy seems to working. I managed six hours, seven would be ideal but it's better than four ....wakey wakey! squirts eau de smelling salts into the air

morning all, I must still be catching up on post viral sleep, took dogs out, went back to bed and didn't stir again till 11, it must be the lavender. Hygienist today so i had better get on.

looks like the apple tree will be in blossom sometime next week. That means a frost the week after that and no apples again. Never mind, it will probably look pretty for a day or two and what more could the home market gardener want.
