Sale Of Goods Act & Ebay
9 Answers
Hi
I purchased an animal adoption package ' In Good Faith' from an EBay seller on 22/04/14 for my young niece but have been incapacitated for a couple of months and when I attempted the other day using the WWF activation code, the WWF informed us that the adoption is not valid & expired in 2006!!!!
I spent almost an hour on the telephone to WWF trying to sort this out for my niece, but they were unable to help
When I contacted EBay, they informed me that, I couldn't really legitimately claim a refund, because I had to do this with items that were 'Not fit for purpose' within 30 days from purchase date, but I wasn't aware of this
Surely the Sale of Goods Act offers further protection than this!!!
Is EBay bound by this?
My young niece is really heartbroken as she was so excited about helping out Orangutans
I would really appreciate some advice if any one can help

Hassle the seller!
In the meantime consider paying £3 per month (or a lump sum of £36) to 'adopt' an animal for your niece directly with the WWF:

(If you go for the monthly option, an Extra £1.50 per month will get your niece into the Go Wild Club).
