Does this depth of intrusion concern Facebook users? It would worry me - which is why I don't use it.

Zacs-Master, //There are settings to make them less intrusive. I get very few adverts. //

That wouldn't prevent them from raiding your address book though, would it?

When you join facebook you have an option of letting it find friends by using your email contacts.

I'd certainly like to how they could possibly know how much I earn or what medication I take.
I can't say it bothers me especially. Sainsbury's knows rather a lot about my shopping habits, ditto Amazon, and that doesn't bother me really either.
For me FB is just like any on-line site, don't post what you want them to know. I'm not putting FB down though it is and can be a helpful media and unlike some foolish users they know sweet FA about me. 'except that I'm 'batman' playing one of those what film character are you synopsis type links.

I like fb, it keeps me in touch with lots of family, you control what goes on to your page, anybody would think it was the devils work....I get a lot of pleasure from it, and it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg ringing people up.
It's especially good when calling outside the UK.
I warned about F/B ages ago. Get out & leave it alone.
It is indeed Ummm, my youngest Bro who was recently travelling around Europe kept us upto speed via FB. In between drinks I might add
I use FB but it knows very little about me - I don't even use my real name
Ron - I really don't understand your issue with it.
Did you see naomi's link ummmm ?
Anything that is overly keen to build up a personal file on you is not good on principle. Minimise that. (It's like a commercial version of the secret police.)
