I’m with 3Ts on this one. When the inappropriat e becomes the norm, it’s a slippery slope.

My eleven year old niece claims to be a lesbian.
She did a pride symbol on one of her art pieces and had her piece removed by the teacher (a Presbyterian).
My point it: kids of CBBC age are very likely to know about single sex relationships, so I don't think this is at all inappropriate "in this day and age" :-)

so if there is nothing inappropriate, and you don't think anything might happn, what's the problem? as i said before i think it's just a symptom of getting older: parents used to think the elvis gyrating was corrupting their children; thatrock n roll music was somehow going to corrupt them but now look at music videos! when your grandson is your age he'll be thinking back in my day, these youngsters didnt do/seethis, just like you are now. it's just the passage of time. What do his parents think? i bet they are not on the same levl of outraged you are
Kissing or snogging are two totally different things surely? I must admit that I think it's all going over the top now and totally disproportionate representation of gays, etc. shown on television programs and advertising. Most relationships are still between males and females. What we are seeing now annoys me too. Nothing wrong with being gay, but if a programme is aimed at children as young as 6 is it really necessary to include sexual behaviour between teens whether gay or not. Let kids be kids.
Same-sex kissing is no less appropriate than opposite-sex kissing. It's only us, and our own hang-ups, that make it so.
Not all types of kiss are appropriate at that age -- I think a full-on extended French kiss would be a bit much, for example! -- but it can hardly be judged inappropriate if it's just about the participants.
