look starbuckone, this is from my "who believes god" post.
"simple question, im up for arguments so come on, (only friendly arguments) :)"

did anyone listen lol :)
Sith123, you are clearly poorly educated in this subject, we do have Muslims on this site that are able to put up a good argument in defence of their beliefs, you just look foolish with every question and answer as you clearly do not know your subject matter well enough to be arguing over it.

I should give up now and get back to your school work.
*i always say nice arguing, no violence or foul language, sadly people do not follow :) *

LOL , Sith which ABer has jumped out of your screen and violently grab you by the throat. Please do tell so that we can report them

lol, sallyBB, ha, that would be a different matter lol, and ratter, i do know there are billions of people who are better than me, but i want to argue my point as everyone else is, i mean, if it ofends you to much, than dont comment on it.
I know, sith, but wherever there is religion of any kind, or of different kinds, you are going to get arguments. I hope not with foul language and I think if there was ed would soon put paid to it.
Question Author
thanks starbuckone, i mean if i offended anyone than im sorry but i just try to answer as best as i can. i know that i may come as harsh but im just arguing my point. i am no scientist or scholar so i will not be able to give all answers, but then again ill try my best :)
Maybe atheists ask questions to lead the religious away from false prophets and on to the path of righteousness. ;o)
Question Author
yeah, maybe
Question Author
but then we can ask questions as well :)
Of course you can. Ask away.
Question Author
ok, now this question is not trying to start an argument, but i just have been wondering about this
1. when did atheism come about and why?

2 what made you choose it

thank you for answering when you do ;)
Atheism didn't 'come about'. No one invented it. It is the default position of every human being. You knew nothing of God until someone else taught you, and if nobody had bothered, you wouldn't believe in a God. Think about it.

The word Atheism shouldn't exist, because it assumes the default position for human beings is theism - and it isn't. See above.

Like many religious people, you assume that Atheism is on a list of choices of 'religion', but it's not. It simply means non-belief in a deity, and I 'choose' it because where religion is concerned, I've done my homework.
(1)
I would imagine Atheism has been about as long as religion has tried to influence people.
(2)
Common sense made me choose it! overwhelming evidence, proof and facts over silly stories about Noah's Ark, parting the sea and the savage and brutal stories of genocide, killing, torture, homophobia and slavery.
Question Author
ok, thanks for the answers :)
And of course Naomi is quite right, \\Atheism didn't 'come about'. No one invented it. It is the default position of every human being. You knew nothing of God until someone else taught you, and if nobody had bothered, you wouldn't believe in a God.//

Why is it I never think of the bloody obvious?!!

but then again I did, that's why im an Atheist. :)

lol
What could you learn by going outside on a clear, dark night and looking at the bright moon and countless stars? You could learn something about the One who created all of this.(Psalm 19:1-6; 69:34)
Goodlife, "Nature" is a wonderful thing!! try looking at it with an open mind sometime!
Goodlife, I've yet to see you come up with one rational or coherent argument for your God or your faith. I'd venture to suggest that many atheists here know the bible rather better than you do, and have consequently made up their own minds, so why you think your continual sanctimonious references to biblical texts might impress them really is beyond me.
Asking 'When did you choose athiesm' is a bit like asking 'When did you choose to believe that money does not grow on trees'.

All the evidence that I have ever heard or seen regarding trees leads me to believe that money does not grow on them. However, tomorrow I could choose to believe that the teachings of Islam are correct according to the 'evidence' and join a club of millions of people who believe the same thing, and on Saturday I could choose to believe the teachings of Christianity are correct, according to the 'evidence' and join another club. And money will still not grow on trees.
