I should give up now and get back to your school work.

Atheism didn't 'come about'. No one invented it. It is the default position of every human being. You knew nothing of God until someone else taught you, and if nobody had bothered, you wouldn't believe in a God. Think about it.
The word Atheism shouldn't exist, because it assumes the default position for human beings is theism - and it isn't. See above.
Like many religious people, you assume that Atheism is on a list of choices of 'religion', but it's not. It simply means non-belief in a deity, and I 'choose' it because where religion is concerned, I've done my homework.

(1)
I would imagine Atheism has been about as long as religion has tried to influence people.
(2)
Common sense made me choose it! overwhelming evidence, proof and facts over silly stories about Noah's Ark, parting the sea and the savage and brutal stories of genocide, killing, torture, homophobia and slavery.

And of course Naomi is quite right, \\Atheism didn't 'come about'. No one invented it. It is the default position of every human being. You knew nothing of God until someone else taught you, and if nobody had bothered, you wouldn't believe in a God.//

Goodlife, I've yet to see you come up with one rational or coherent argument for your God or your faith. I'd venture to suggest that many atheists here know the bible rather better than you do, and have consequently made up their own minds, so why you think your continual sanctimonious references to biblical texts might impress them really is beyond me.
Asking 'When did you choose athiesm' is a bit like asking 'When did you choose to believe that money does not grow on trees'.
All the evidence that I have ever heard or seen regarding trees leads me to believe that money does not grow on them. However, tomorrow I could choose to believe that the teachings of Islam are correct according to the 'evidence' and join a club of millions of people who believe the same thing, and on Saturday I could choose to believe the teachings of Christianity are correct, according to the 'evidence' and join another club. And money will still not grow on trees.
