//christian' american soldiers and the catholic IRA have killed many more people over the years than that plot //
i actually agree. That is why i put this up. How often do you hear people talk about that. Nil. If it happens to be a christian who is a terrorist he is just a terrorist. if it is a muslim than he happens to be an islamic terrorist.
what was that saying? not all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims? that is what people actually say. and than people say that we are blinded and do not accept the truth. How many terrorists are out there apart from muslims. the IRA, anders breivrik, in sri lanka there is also a few called tamil tigers.. all over the world there are sorts of terrorists.

Keyplus, I don’t think you’ve read the article that goes with your link. I contributed to that thread, and the heading is very misleading. The article says the figures are a ‘guesstimate’, and Fiyaz Mughal, director of Faith Matters, admitted that coming up with a reliable estimate of the number of converts to Islam was notoriously difficult. He said "People are interested in finding out what Islam is all about and when they do that they go in different directions. Most shrug their shoulders and return to their lives but some will inevitably end up liking what they discover and will convert."
As I said there, this reminds me of the hippies in the 1960s/70s who investigated and temporarily embraced other eastern religions because it was fashionable to do so. Once they matured and got over their curiosity, most abandoned their new found ‘faith’ and got on with their normal lives.
As for your wife converting to Islam, had you been of another religion, your wife would not be Muslim now, so she didn’t choose a religion – she married a man who wanted her to convert to his religion.
Just out of interest, what would you have done if she’d have refused to convert to Islam? Would you have still married her?
Your parents must have married very young – but how fortunate to have lived such long lives.

No, she married a man she found to be better in so many aspects of life. And for a Muslim Islam is way of life and that way of life is better than other ways of life. Obviously there are women who married to men who were not practising at all then why they themselves became more practising than their husbands? I know one couple myself. The guy is a younger brother of one of very well known Pakistani cricketer and married an English women about 26 years ago. He himself started drinking almost every day and therefore was not a good example any way. But his wife became more devout Muslim and in the end they got divorced only because she got fed up with his drinking habit. Now she is bringing her kids up as a very practical Muslims and he is wandering around. A typical example that Islam need practicality and you are not just born in it. And then it is an example that it is Islam (and its beauty) that attracts people and not the person.
As for the parents, my mother was about 13 and father around 20 when they got married. Mother died at the age of 86 and father is in nineties (or probably even 100 as at their time they never had any records of D.O.B) and still going strong. He almost gave up after the death of my mother but then picked himself.
