Stephen Fry Blasphemy Investigation

I thought this was a joke article from one of those spoof news sites when I first saw it. There are lots of questions here but I'll go with 'Does anyone think he'll actually be charged with the offence?'

Naomi - they have - but they were not the only ones - there are thousands more people who hold their views and remain un-'silenced' by another culture, as you put it.
Like who?
Even the remaining staff at Charlie Hebdo won't be publishing any more material along the lines of that which ended in the slaughter of their colleagues.
Radical Islam that apparently has nothing to do with Islam has 'silenced' them.
I can't help wondering how many Muslims will be happy or even proud of that.

In addition to v_e's list of atrocities (Thurs. 17:53) we should not forget the 4 Jews who were killed in the Paris kosher supermarket and the many who still live daily in fear to the extent that large numbers feel the need to leave their country;
"For months, indeed years now, French Jewish leaders have been warning government officials, journalists and each other that they sense a creeping anti-Semitism in the country, and that they increasingly feel a strong unease about their own security. About 7,000 French Jews left the country during 2014, according to the Jewish Agency for Israel, with many emigrating to Israel; that number is double the figure from 2013." - and is still continuing now in 2017.

Naomi - // andy-hughes, //....unless they are extremists who are not acknowledged as true Muslims. //
Not acknowledged by whom? //
By the majority of Muslims in the world.
And to pre-empt your next post - no I do not have evidence for that, I am merely putting forward a view based on my perception. You can disagree with it if you wish, but that does not mean that my view is not accurate.

Naomi - //andy-hughes, it doesn't mean your view is accurate either. According to figures, 25% of British Muslims harbour sympathy with the Charlie Hebdo murderers - and they're only those who are telling the truth. //
According to 'figures' - Jeremy Corbyn has the support of his party - you'll have to do better than that.

"Palestinian celebrations
A group of Palestinians were filmed celebrating in the street in celebration of the local news reports of attacks on the World Trade Center and the deaths of thousands of Americans. Fox News reported that in Ein el-Hilweh, Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp, revelers fired weapons in the air, with similar celebratory gunfire heard at the Rashidiyeh camp near the southern city of Tyre as well.
