Stephen Fry Blasphemy Investigation

I thought this was a joke article from one of those spoof news sites when I first saw it. There are lots of questions here but I'll go with 'Does anyone think he'll actually be charged with the offence?'

“It’s utterly, utterly evil.
“Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?”
Yes, that was his opinion - it might be yours too, but isn't the issue here about someone else's opinion of him voicing it, and particularly in such a public manner?

Some of us would be more impressed by "courageous" Mr. Fry had he taken the *** out of the Muslim God rather than the Christian one, Birdie.

Instead of kicking the man, mikey ... play the ball.
Ricky Gervais is well known for his atheism and his anti religion Tweets but I can't recall him Tweeting/joking about Islam and Muslims, his Tweets are mainly aimed at Christians and Christianity.
Do you think there is a reason for this?

Talbot - Take a look at this -
Do you imagine Chris Rock would aim this routine at a white audience?
Comedians appeal to their audiences, that's why they have audieces.
To assume that commedians not appealing to people who don't come their shows is some kind of fear avoidance, or political correctness is frankly a fatuous viewpoint.

I disagree with both of you and I have been following him on Twitter for years.
