How can anybody wanting to worship God or wanting to search for Him ever step into a Roman Catholic Church given their recent revelations about criminal and pervasive sexual abuse with both adults and children?
Where is their integrity?

I dont think my wee Grandparents going along to the local chapel on a Sunday “condones” the abuse that was sadly carried out by “people” (not even people) in the Catholic church. X

the roman catholic church system is evil and not of God. but that is not true of those who happen to have been born into that system and forced to follow their doctrines and forced to raise their children in the same system. No such thing as purgatory and limbo. Wicked treatment of children in convents at the hands of the most evil nuns has occurred for centuries but of course there are few gentle and caring ones among them. Go back to the recent Magdalen laundries for evidence. Read Philomena. It is a sick and most evil institution.
I could write a book about this evil system and it would horrify many of you who are sincere followers of what you have falsely been taught about God and the burdensome rules you are expected to follow to avoid being left in purgatory. What a tyrant it makes out God to be. Read the history of this evil system back to the corrupt popes who dare to set themselves up as God's intermediaries.
The problem stems from Catholic priests are supposed to be celibate. Very few are. I went to a catholic school as a five year old, being inquisitive I asked questions, I was told I must blindly believe. When I asked why, I got caned so hard it left red wheals on both hands. I ran out of school in floods of tears all the way home, about a mile. My dad was a soldier and happened to be on leave at the time, he cuddled and asked me what was wrong, I showed him my hands and he went ballistic! He carried me all the way back to school, burst into the head black widows office and showed her my hands and ever so calmly asked why, she said I was a trouble maker, asking awkward questions, when I should blindly believe. By the time he'd finished I'm sure she wet herself! Needless to say I never went back to the school.
Robocop. I didn't post about the Einzatzgruppen in ignorance. I'm fully aware who they were. RIP
Ordur-sur-Glane, to name just one of their attrocities. And they mostly got away with it. Just like people in the Catholic Church. Anyway, I'm not bothered about the bad taste. Why should anyone bother about bad taste on this issue?

And much as I love you, Tinks....and my friends and family who follow the Catholic faith.... I will never understand why anyone still does.
It's not only the cruelty and abuse...the taking of babies and burying them in fields.....it's also the wealth of this church...and others of course...that is obscene.
The investments now held by and the property and land now owned by the Catholic Church have come from the poor.
We were not wealthy but not the poorest family. Every Monday morning each school child had to bring a sixpence for Father's Money. Hundreds of sixpences going to the priests.....from families where finding two or three shillings each week was sometimes impossible.
And there we'd be on Sunday mornings putting more money into the collection plates as we stared at the thousands of pounds worth of ornaments decorating the altar......
Not quite sure what Jesus would be thinking of this if he ever found himself at Mass. I doubt the word Christianity would be springing to his mind.
