Is your atheism based on a full and satisfactory appreciation of your understanding of the nature of our apparent reality, or do you possess any doubts on that on which you abandon belief in God?

You survived moving house - well done.

PS - I never had a faith to lose.
Question Author
Yes. Great house. Still disorganised but getting there.
Cheers.
I believe in Angels with no understanding why they take care of me, but good to know they're there.
Theland, good to see you back my friend (or should that be adversary?)…
So glad that you eventually got the move that you hoped for. :-)

I haven't abandoned belief in God...it has never been there.
My atheism is based on there being no god.
I have more important things to do than sit around considering reality and religion.
//I have more important things to do than sit around considering reality and religion.//
We all do, but some of us are philosophically minded and question such things.
CrapAtCryptics, I have more important things to do than sit around considering reality and religion.

...like football ;-)
Question Author
Got to laugh. "More important things to do etc etc."
So the possibility of an eternity with or without God is not as important as, er, what?
Must be really really really busy with issues of such great importance that they surpass the importance of reality itself.
What a complicated life!
//So the possibility of an eternity with or without God//
'Possibility'?
Not a certainty then?
What about a 'possibility' of an eternity without Allha, or Zeus, or Thor?
Why is YOUR God so special?
You take care OP... and keep pondering.
Question Author
The One True God.
Not Allah or any other.
I am completely satisfied.
Others need to investigate.
Not getting into arguments.
I am happy.
Just chatting.
not an atheist but here's how I see it. I believe that there is a god but I don't believe that the bible is divinely inspired or the literal truth.I belive that god wants us to be the best person that we can be and to make the best use of the world we are in and of our own gifts BUT I wouldn't call the state of my belief structure full and satisfactory, its just where I am now....I don't think its unreasonable for an atheistto feel the same about their stance....they may not feel its full or satisfactory, its where they are now.....as for the importance of what happens next....well its what happens next...whatever it is will be regardless of what I believe (although I know what I hope for) and I don't think that the afterlife is one thousandth as important as what we do and how we behave here and now.
Question Author
I disagree.
The Bible is not dictated, but is the inspired Word Of God.
your phrasing of the OP alone demonstrates that you cannot possibly comprehend any sensible answer.
I don't understand the question
dam I must stop trying to reason with religious nutjobs whilst oliver!
