An hour long video, but even atheists might feel it interesting and entertaining, and Km sure fellow Christians certainly will.
Just watching the news confirms it all for me.

From about 1880, Jews mainly from Russia, persecuted from the frequent pogroms, began trickling back to the land now called Palestine, and under the rule of the Ottoman Empire.
1897 and Theodore Herzel held a conference of Jews in Basel in Switzerland, to work towards a homeland for the Jewish people.
People continued to go back, buying up land, helped by wealthy Jews such as the Rothschilds.
In 1915, Britain promised, with the .Bslfour declaration, to look favourably on, and help with, a Jewish Homeland.
1917 General Allenby marched his troops into Jerusalem, freeing it from Ottoman rule.
Lots more detail that I can't possibly squeeze into a few posts. Bear with me.
More to come.

Read the prophecy in chapter 37 of Ezekiel, the valley of dry bones.
What happened in history?
Jews had been persecuted and murdered for 2000 years and finally the Holocaust in world war 2 when 6,000,000 Jews were murdered by the Nazis.
In 1948 the state of Israel was born, just as the scriptures had foretold.
I doubt anything I have written will be acceptable to some ABers but I have tried to at least satisfy Nailit, and you Pixie.

Pixie - You wondered why other Christians do not post on here.
I don't know either, but I suspect that the responses from aggressive atheists puts them off.
You asked for dates? Yes there are dates, but not on a conventional calendar of course.
You will need to read the latter part of the Book of Daniel to begin the process of dating these events.

Theland, It’s illogical to claim that people hate something they don’t believe exists.
The short answer to the prophecy argument is that had any been miraculously fulfilled the news would have made world headlines. None have.
Any alleged fulfilment of prophecy - so far - can be explained rationally. You’ll no doubt continue to ignore those that are either just plain ludicrous or demonstrable failures since they’re long past their sell-by dates.
As for Hal Lindsay, yet another American evangelist who like the rest knows no more about what the future holds than anyone else, but nevertheless, again like the rest, makes pots of money from the gullible.

//Nail it @ 20:22 - Are you joking?//
About what? I merely suggested that it may be helpful to a reasoned debate if you would provide your own take on why you believe that modern Israel is a fulfilment of biblical prophecy.
//Do you think I know all the prophetic bible verses off by heart?//
Google is your friend...
(and there is less than a handful that (seemingly)relate to the restoration of Israel)
//Sorry mate.
This is not a competition with a prize for the winner//
Who said it was. You come across as being very defensive when no one is attacking, curious that! Mate!
//It was supposed to be a conversation, but your giving me the third degree over it//
Eh? Why is asking you for your own take on things equal to giving you the third degree?
You're been defensive again.
//Personally, I have no particular interest in whether you take the prophecies seriously or not//
Cool.
//but it would be good to continue the conversation in a less hostile tone without you being so critical//
Man up a bit Theland. We both know that a thick skin is required on AB at times. Because I ask you for your OWN take on why Israel is a fulfilment of biblical prophecy, as opposed to just posting vids (ad infinitum) is no reason to start crying into your milk.
//And the YouTube videos? Why not use them?//
Because frankly, they are boring. And how can I have a conversation with a vid?
//But now that you have once again displayed your credentials//
Do I detect a touch of sarcasm here? The same thing that you accuse others of?
//may I ask, what did you disagree with in .Hal Lindsay's book from the 1970's, "The Late Great Planet Earth"?//
It was decades ago when I read it. I would have to read it again in order to critique it properly. Anyway, good try in trying to deflect any questions away from yourself.

Nailit, I gave you one.
The history of the Jews is well known.
Look at it from 70 / 72 AD right up to the present.
Then look at the prophecies, all written before that time.
They are the same, yes?
If not, point it out to me.
How is that for a calm, quiet, polite beginning to a reasoned conversation?
