to the religious....
So whats it all about?
Retribution, judgment, what?
End times (again) maybe?
A plague from God?
A precursor of the Anti-Christ?
Serious question, what the **** is this all about then?
Or is it simply an unprecedented virus that science will cure?

Electro - // Theland @ 11:25 Do you not consider your joke about Prince Andrew and your comment about someone taking themself in hand to be lewd? Double standards I think. //
Theland is keen to tell us on a daily basis how he lives by his code of Christian morality.
To be fair he does - because part of Christian morality is double standards which exist everywhere - including Theland's 'jokes' on here, and his stance on Islam and immigration and abortion.
Look at the evil carried out in the name of Christianity, it's all there - double standards.
Of course I may have double standards as well, but the difference is, I am not crippled by religious guilt on a daily basis, or the fervent need to point out to everyone else how wrong they are because they don't believe what I believe.

Theland - // You are devoid of any belief that could anchor your morality. //
That is a colossally arrogant position to take.
You have no idea what beliefs nailit may or may not have to 'anchor his morality' as you put it.
To say that infers that anyone with no belief system is without morality, and as someone without a belief system, i can tell you that my morality is as anchored as yours or anyone else's and I take gross offence at your temerity in suggesting otherwise.
Yet again you let your Christian sense of superiority dictate your posts.

Andy, my apologies for unintended offence given.
My poin is we need a moral authority beyond and outside of ourselves that is objectively independent and not affected by the whims of our feelings.
Please forgive me for being insensitive to your and others feelings. It has never been my intention to cause upset.

For someone who does not intend to give offence, you do so a significantly larger number of times than just about anyone else on this site!
// My poin is we need a moral authority beyond and outside of ourselves that is objectively independent and not affected by the whims of our feelings. //
Actually, if you prefaced that with 'In my opinion … ' or something of that nature, it would stop it being the edict from on high that you clearly believe it is, and others, including myself, so not.
I do not need something 'outside myself' to create or maintain my moral code - I manage it all by myself, as does any mature adult with an ounce of humanity in them.
// Please forgive me for being insensitive to your and others feelings. It has never been my intention to cause upset. //
Your insensitivity comes from your unshakeable belief that holding your faith makes you right, and others who do not hold it, wrong.
You will offer offence again, and you will apologise again - it's just the way your faith makes you - more's the pity.

Theland - // Subjective morality leads to racist convictions, anti semitism, naziism and gas chambers. //
So does Christianity, if you want to follow your own perverse logic to its natural conclusion - the Nazis were fervent Christians as I am sure you know.
The point is, morality, or the absence of it, is a choice given to us all as adults - it is up to us how we align and govern our morality.
You feel the need to align it to messages from your God - I do not - and I will not sit here and have you condescend to me about the morality of Nazism in order to swerve away from the last post I offered to you - which is also what you do on a daily basis.

Theland - you are fond of reading to back up your views - refresh your memory here why don't you -

//Apart from throwing mud, and criticising, you appear quite vacant regards any meaningful conversation//
A bit of projection there methinks.
//Remember, if you reject what I say, at least have the decency to replace it with your own theory//
Eh? And you just accused ME of being vacant?
Why do I NEED a theory of anything?

Theland - // There is no way Nazis followed the simple teachings of Jesus Christ, rather a skewed man made religion pitted with Roman Catholicism. //
Unsurprisingly, you prefer to pursue your 'Nazi' red herring than acknowledge the previous posts I have offered about your attitude and the way you patronise people.
But if you are following it, then let's do that.
In your eyes, Hitler was following a 'skewed man-made religion ...' but you can be assured, if he was alive and posting on this site, he would be backing his views with all the fervency and conviction that you bring here every day.
The interesting question for a neutral outsider is, when it comes to defending beliefs, what would make either of you more or less right or wrong than the other?
