to the religious....
So whats it all about?
Retribution, judgment, what?
End times (again) maybe?
A plague from God?
A precursor of the Anti-Christ?

Serious question, what the **** is this all about then?
Or is it simply an unprecedented virus that science will cure?

Read your own posts, theland, and it will become clear. .

Because theland is arguing for quantity of lives, not quality of lives.
Without the anchor of an objective moral authority, our society is not going to flip into immorality overnight, but a slow drift into darkness that would have been unthinkable a generation ago.
It is a slippery slope. That is what I am afraid of.
And you, Andy, are totally wrong about me.
Your personal profiling me is way off the mark, but don't let truth get in the way of a good post eh?
Theland, you are giving Christianity a bad name. Give it a rest!

I'd let Theland argue his own beliefs regarding abortion. If aborted foetuses go to heaven then I fail to see whats wrong with abortion? You are guaenteening that your children are assured a place in paradise.

Otherwise they may grow up to be Hitler or the Yorkshire ripper or somthing evil, like an ABer who question's
Electrochem, explain please?
Nailit, you have nothing sensible or meaningful to say.

It dont take Theland to give christianity a bad name.
A brief reading of the Bible will do that in no time.
Theland - // And you, Andy, are totally wrong about me.

I don't - the truth is here for anyone to read - you confirm who and what you are with tedious regularity.
Theland, //Without my faith, I fear I might have been pro abortion//

But because of your faith you defend murder, your dividing line being the identity of the perpetrator. Morally, why does that not sit uneasily with you?
Theland //Without the anchor of an objective moral authority, our society is not going to flip into immorality overnight, but a slow drift into darkness that would have been unthinkable a generation ago.//

The Bible is the last place one should consult for anything like objective morality.

It is littered with suggestion to perpetrate atrocities.
I believe we are the living in the very last days as depicted in the Bible and the Rapture of the Church will be soon. The Bible warns of fearful events in the last days. The current pandemic is just one example.
God is wanting to get everyone's attention.SOMETHING IS GOING ON. I would urge all to accept salvation in Jesus before it is too late
The bible has been wrong countless times. Just because it stabs in the dark about unspecified disasters is just a sign of how daft people get taken in by generalised predictions. It’s how fortune tellers work as well. Manna from heaven for the gullible (and yes, that was deliberate).
Zacs-Master, give an example when the Bible has been wrong
Fiveleaves, can you give an example of when the bible has been right? Not just vague warnings of impending doom, or of events which would certainly happen anyway if one waited long enough, but something specific that might impress a non-believer.
fiveleaves - // Zacs-Master, give an example when the Bible has been wrong //

Allow me to trot out my hoary old standard - "If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off …"

Not seen a huge amount of takers for that one!!!
fiveleaves, //I would urge all to accept salvation in Jesus before it is too late //

Too late for what? I think most people who have no religion accept that some day they will die. It happens. That's life.

I absolutely accept it, and fully expect there to be nothing afterwards whatsoever.

Of course, if I am wrong, and there is something, I will regard that as a result - and having not really said anything negative about any of the gods or versions thereof that we know about, and having been as good a person as I can within reason, I look forward to a free pass into whatever sort of 'afterlife' they have lined up for me.

As I am sure you do too, although if it's Allah waiting, you might have to have a bit of a conversation … !!
fiveleaves - please tell me what is 'the rapture of the church'??
AH, //I look forward to a free pass into whatever sort of 'afterlife' they have lined up for me.

As I am sure you do too...//

Not me. People die, just as animals die, and plants die. Everything has a sell-by date so to speak. That, as I said, is life.

I (and others here) have documented several failed biblical prophecies. No point in reiterating them because you...like Theland...totally ignore them in that blinkered way that believers are prone to.
