Seriously, what you got to offer me?
Or is it a case of what I can avoid!

I'm deadly (excuse the pun) serious. But what can your belief system/religion/spiritual tradition/ offer me except a free pass out of hell?

An eternity of Hallelujah's?
For Eternity????

Mamya; Indeed. It reminds of the toast attributed to the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens;
"Here's to the happiest days of our lives, spent in the arms of other men's wives: gentlemen, - our mothers"
Yes - nothing untoward or sinister about it.
There's nothing untoward or sinister about the concept. Very very odd after reading the post before though. As if you need forgiveness if you love your mother. Maybe an exceptionally badly placed non-sequitur.
It's very easy on here to read replies as if they follow a sequence - they don't always.
No, that usually applies to cross-posting, more. Nice to see even your own mother described as "another man's wife"... roll on the 12th century!
Seriously ....... nothing . What do you have to offer anyone ?
Oh dear.
. ? Mamma
I think that was cross-posted, Anne, although I don't know either.
My reply was to Pixie, I was dodging the soapbox.

Sorry Anne.
Pixie, I thought I was being reprimanded :-)
Sorry, I still don't understand.
I know :-) both posted at the same time x
It's a quote that is ages old Pixie, we may not say that a man takes a wife anymore but stock phrases live on in literature and common parlance.
I see, apologies. Even so, it sounds centuries old to me.
So is Shakespeare and Milton, we still quote those.
If and when relevant.... I suspect.
Apologies Nailit for my part in a diversion.
Curious reactions to a simple concept. Is there also something wrong then with saying, "A woman's husband" ?

Thank heavens the fight-back is now under way against all this wokery.
Would just sound a bit odd, khandro. I think the confusion was more about the placement, from the post before. Does "stealing another man's wife" include loving your mother? As I said, maybe just oddly placed.
