If you want to debate a serious subject, then I'll debate it. However, it seems to me you're simply goading and seeking conflict, and I have no interest in arguing with you. I've told you I was once a Christian and I'm not about to tell you my life history, so don't expect it. Answerbank is not about my personal life. Believe it if you want to - if you don't then don't. It matters not to me. Now can we please stop this nonsense before you make an even greater fool of yourself? I doubt your behaviour is impressing many on here.

Yes, you have told me you were once a Christian, naomi24. You could tell me you were once captured by aliens but should anybody just accept that you were without you saying what happened? Why is it wrong of me to ask why you think you were once a Christian? You ask all manner of questions of others and you expect a reply - why is it so different to expect an answer from you when you claim something?
It isn't your life story that I am after, it is the answer to a very simple question. Why does that one tiny question bother you so much that you are not prepared to give an answer to it?

Catron For goodness sake, leave it. 'Why do I 'believe' I was once a Christian?' It is not a very simple question - it's a very personal question that requires a complex and personal answer. Whatever I say you'll argue anyway, won't you, because it's plain to see that that's what you're after. An argument. If that wasn't the case, and you simply wanted to conduct an intelligent discussion, I'd be more inclined to indulge you.
Catron, I've seen you hijack other peoples questions to go on like this to naomi a few times now. She told you she was a christian many times yet you keep asking her. Accept her answer and move on, whether you believe her or not, that said, why would she lie.
In answer to the question I'd say jesus was probably just a very convincing leader of a cult. Successful mind, maybe even moreso than Hubbard.

I think all our original ancestors came from other planets and evolution in humans stopped at those lovely neanderthal looking types and maybe a little alien/godlike intervention happened...and modern people were born.
Hold on Naomi...I'll get around to your question or our nautical 1966's friends question. Jesus was a man and descendant of a race from elsewhere. Just like the rest of us.
If I make no sense at all then that is to be expected or accepted.

Catron Why would naomi24 lie, styley? To give more weight to her arguments against Christianity perhaps?
That's not even your own argument, Catron - you filched that from Quinlan, didn't you.
Of course, a cynic might view that as a neat attempt to invest more weight in your argument .......
OK. You're asking why I 'believed' I was a Christian. An answer. Because I believed in God, I believed Jesus was his son, I believed Jesus was born of a virgin, rose from the dead, and came to save me and the rest of mankind. And I believed in the concept of sin, in heaven and in the devil too. Does that suit you? I don't expect you're any more convinced now than you were before, so what has that proven? Absolutely nothing.
Now can we get this discussion, which you've succeeded in ruining with your nonsense, back on track?
Luna I also believe there was a little genetic engineering.

Morning, all.
My goodness, Catron, you really are a tenacious little thing, aren't you ?
1. If Naomi says she was a Christian, I really think that you ought to accept that she was and leave it there.
2. I have my own doubts as quite to where your argument would next stagger if naomi did indulge you and explain her former religious position.
3. You are obviously in the Christian God's corner and defending him in a very muscular way.
4. Your bulldog approach to naomi will, I am sure, earn you brownie points in your heaven....it just won't get you much down here, unless you are prepared to be a less confrontational....
