Another reason to boycot organised religion

I heard a radio chat show last week in which a cleric of the C of E described homosexuality as being 'an abomination.' This really annoys me for several reasons. 1) The world has many, many homosexuals, so on the scale of unusuality, it would be seen as a common condition. 2) Homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice, it just is what it is. I could no easier have a gay relationship myself (as a hetro) as a homosexual could have a hetrosexual relationship. It is equally as unimaginable. 3) What business is it of anyone else? 4) Why do people of the cloth always seem to have such closed, bigoted minds?

Wrong does not become right does not matter how many people do that. That is one weakness of democracy.
Homosexuality is more in those countries where people have experimented almost every way possible with their sexual life to take it one more step further. And this further and further is taking these societies on the brink of disasters. These disasters could be health, social, ethical and emotional.
Homosexuality is not good for society due to medical and health problems due to this as well as social problems. And if people want to turn a blind eye towards then lets wait and see, I am already watching it.

I think bearing in mind the C of E church has gay vicars in it's midst they shouldn't be allowed to say things like this whether they think it or not. They have a moral obligation to make themselves approachable to everyone. I have never understood why the vicars that say these things, don't think well there are many things I don't understand on this earth but God created us this way and I shall support all that come to me for help. Not all vicars think like this and I think the CofE need to stop their clergy from spouting these opinions. Actually he should be sacked. I'm sure if I Said that at work Id be up for a disciplinary.
The trouble is..............according to religious scripture, these individuals are entirely correct...........
It is the religious scripture that is wrong..........that, and all slavish, blinkered and unthinking adherence to it.
The sooner religion has no place in the formulation of laws, the better............

People are people. Just as there are atheists who cannot stomach the thought of someone being a homosexual, there are homosexuals who eagerly try to convert atheists to some form of religious faith.
I think Le Chat is right and that religion shouldnt come into it. Most people who object to homosexuality would argue against it on moral or natural law grounds whether supposedly backed by scripture or completely disbelieving in religion at all. Note that keyplus cites social and moral issues as the grounds for his view, no doubt this is endemic to a society where being homosexual can lead to capital punishment by execution.
The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart:
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!

Keyplus gave the answer I expected of him, backed up by half-baked and completely different comparisons!
I accept that there are some sexually deviant people who try it out and may incorporate it into their sexual life but it's an unenlightened and unintelligent mind that thinks that truly people are gay because they just decide one day to be gay!

Woke up early and decided to be gay from now on.
Oh do come on!!!
