okay religious people, can you explain to me why your God lets such bad things happen, please? I am bemused.
apart from what we hear/see on the news, I had a terrible childhood, I've grown up and seen such bad things happen to good people (and vice versa), and this week my daughter's 16 year old friend died in a dreadful accident.
I'm not after sympathy.. you've probably all been through something similar.
but why does your God allow such things to happen?

Sara...I'm not sure I don't believe in God. Not yet anyway.....but what hit me really hard was my born again Mother...the woman who cries in church every week because she feels the lord. I phoned her to tell her my lovely Uncle had died and my adored Dad had been given 6 months to live. I didn't see her or hear from her until my Dads funeral 7 months later.....

Would Jesus want that?

Not true actually,I do know of some people who have found Jesus after being brought up in a non-religious family.Please don't blame yourself,sara or start to feel guilty if anything bad happens to your children,we all have good and bad luck from time to time,it's nothing to do with a non-existent god.Any comebacks key?

I'm sorry ummmm. it's hard being hurt by someone who should be there for you. I have similar (yet miles apart) issues with my mum.

I had to watch my Mum die slowly with Alzheimers,I suppose God created that too.She was what I'd call a good person,and certainly didn't deserve that and it wasn't exactly fun watching it either!

Definitely....but I more meant that she pushed me away from religion. From Jesus, who she wanted me to ask into my heart...When she proved to have none, unless it included Jesus.

Do you have to loose someone before you can forgive them? Its easier to see good in peeps than bad; it saves a lot of heartache.

If you feel pushed out, make an effort and reach out to them. You could persuade them along a better path.
