I think it about time that a halt was called to the unnecessary grunting and groaning from tennis players. Surely Wimbledon Officialdom can insist on an end to the racket which is made by individuals such as Maria Sharapova.

It is my view that the banshee ball bashers should be banned.

joggerjayne......I hope you smile at this.:- My theory is that women fart more than men and, with the exception of one, I have heard all of Viv's female friends letting off a sly one whilst continuing to talk, as if someone else may have done it.

Ron.
LOL, LOL

I would be totally mortified if I thought I'd been caught doing that.

To digress from what really has become a lot of wind but, still keeping with tennis and my trying to serve an ace to joggerjayne, I cannot resist telling you an untrue story about myself.

Jogging through a park on a nice summer morning I spotted a tennis ball on the ground. I picked it up and, not having a pocket in my track-suit, I put it inside the Y-fronts which I had underneath. It then so happened that I passed a rather elderly lady who was resting on a park bench. She gave me an old fashioned look and I automatically said "Tennis Ball" to which she replied "Oh, must be very painful because I once had tennis elbow"

Brill Ron, but you forgot to grunt.....eearghnt!

Waharrr...The grunting and groaning games continue from 12.00noon today. Full order of play is listed:-

Hope you are all looking forward to the raucous rackets produced on court. In the meanwhile I wish to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. [including my wife Viv who never appreciates the jokes I deliver.:-)]

Ron.
tennis is no longer a serve volley game, its pure baseline power play
and with that in mind produces the grunts and expulsion of air
Question Author
Roy...It's strange that grunting is not the case with all players. Today I observed that Venus Williams only started grunting when she was loosing and I feel sure it must have been a distraction to her opponent.

Anyway thanks for your comment.
