Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Morning all. White Rabbits. No April Fools day here. Ours is 28 DEC its st Innocents day.
Mr N and I are sitting at a pavement cafe drinking coffee or in his case beer. Very warm.
Cat was absolutely dreadful all night. I sat with her from 2.15,til 4.15 and then let her out just as I was going to sleep OH let her in so I was up again. Driving me mad.

The April fools are in full swing. I had an email from Wilkos this morning .New line ! Hot tubs for birds and bird friendly bubble bath.
There was even a picture ...lol.

Morning all, here I is. Hmmm, yes, it said 84 answers when I arrived and it was 85, I don't know why that happens.
I've been busy pottering and cleaning. I decided it was time to push the vac around, there were dust bunnies cavorting in the corners in the bathroom. In my defence I've been using new towels and they make a lot of fluff.

Wilko's emails were promoting mini hot tubs for wild birds on April 1st....haha.

Its bright here too but not warm. I have been nagged to move the dogbeds so they are both in the sun which is in front of the TV so I can’t use the TV remote....heigh ho!

is it just me or is it really quite nippy these last few nights? The days are warm enough but I'm feeling chilly after sundown (OH says the same) and putting on an extra pair of socks. We haven't got the electric blanket out yet but I'm beginning to think about it.

Both Accu and the BBC say it's 13 at the moment but it really feels like half that. Maybe I have just suddenly started to feel it more?

Shaney do you wantmthe film What happened to Baby Jane along with Feud? I watched it last night, its strange, in feud my sympathies are with Bette Davies ( and how Susan Saradon is so like Bette Davies is amazing,) but in the Baby jane film my sympathies are with Crawford. It was funny thinking about the hostilities when making the film.

Morning all
Bit of a dreary one .Very foggy first thing but it's supposed to get out brighter later.On the forecast they said it was going to turn very cold again next week so don't pack your winter woollies away just yet .
I sorted bookcases yesterday .Wish I'd never started really but now have a box of books for the charity shop and more gaps to fill up again :)
I have seen Whatever happened to Baby Jane, Neti.In fact I think I've seen it few times.I'm so looking forward to Feud and the Americans.
Hope you're all ok .It's a stiff achey day here but then again Accu say 92% humidity so that's probably why .

Yes shaney Ive already seen it but needed to see it again.
Hija has had her wisdom tooth out, im going to dentist tomorrow to see about getting mine out, and one of my friends had her wisdom out last Friday. Steer clear of this island for a while. My(new and hopefully not a rip off) dentist has to see about my nose before she will extract the tooth!

Mousey had me up and down every 30 mins or so, I am shattered, I dread nighttime now,Mr N says to ignore her for a while at first as she sometimes justs shuts up, but I dont want him disturbed as he needs to be alert at work. She is eating so much!

hello all I have been plumbing today. My dripping tap in the loo has gone from dripping to a steady trickle so I decided I had to act....I mean how hard can it be (nobody answer) Anyway the screw that takes the turner bit off is seized solid so have ordered an impact screwdriver which will arrive tomorrow....watch this space.
