when I click on a photo in My Pictures it insists on opening in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 (I didn't even know I had this but I assume it came with Photoshop Elements 3). I'm given the option of opening in Windows Picture Viewer, which I want (quicker and less 'noisy' to look at), but have to do it every time. Where can I change the default to Picture Viewer? I've got Windows XP.

Isn't The Full Monty a brilliant film?

I have removed the veil. R eye now sees thins a lot brighter than L eye, also with a lot more blue (L eye sees them a sort of pale cream, which I prefer). However, nothing R eye sees is in focus. Nurse called up to check, and says it will take days for optical muscles to adapt to the new lens.

Conscious that I look down at the keyboard a lot so I may be endangering the lens; so may not post so much for a while
Just keep me as best answer, and we'll be OK. Take care Jno
in that case jno, give it a complete break for a few days, we will still be here when you come back......oddly the fridge came from Poland!
Just back from visiting my poorly friend, and she is in a poorly way. The xray shows half of her brain has bled (or something about half the brain and bleeding) and the doctors have given her maybe 15days left. She is totally unaware, but I just chatted away about the old days and I am sure her eyes moved, they were closed yesterday and slightly open today although her daughter says she looks worse. I seem to remember from when my ma-in-law was in a coma her eyes followed light and dark but they said it meant nothing! Her ex and her son should arrive tomorrow, ex will stay on in her house for all eventualities, but son has to return at some point , he works for united nations. The whole village is gutted as she was a popular person.
Afternoon all, here I is at last. Having a terrible time with the aches and pains and couldn't sit at the big puta yesterday..

Jno I'm pleased your eye op went well, take it easy and no trampolining on the bed until next year. Suppose I'd better get myself air brushed before I come on here in future then. ...Well done to jno jnr too, my two started driving the minute they were old enough, thankfully both passed first time but being a young driver is an expensive thing.

So sorry about your friend neti, that's so very sad, hope it's peaceful for her...I learned recently that a local business person doesn't have very long and they won't get to retire abroad as they'd planned.

Sorry you've had the rough weather shaney, hope all's well today. It was wild here, as Jude said... a big tree in the garden next door but one (aka Mrs Demanding) has fallen down into the new neighbour's garden in between us. Good thing it missed the windows, they have 3 little kids and a baby. She came to me in a panic (everybody does, lol), I rang Mrs D who made me a tad angry, she can be awful sometimes, but I won't go into details, and it's now waiting to be dealt with.
Then this morning at the bottom of my garden I found a heavy hose pipe on a stand wedged between a buddleia and the fence ...waaaay too heavy to have blown in so someone's probably been trying to pinch it from the bungalow, thrown it over and didn't bargain for the shrubbery on my side. Popped a note through his door and waiting to see what he says.

Booger it, beam me up....I'm krackered.
KBO all x
I am such a wimp, I had to drive to Ibiza, but the private clinic in just in a normal street with paid parking, always full, so being as it's a fiesta I decided that noone would go out ergo no parking spaces. So I drove to Lidl on the outskirts of Ibiza, parked there, looked around the store in case they clocked me and left by another entrance and then walked to the clinic (miles). Well I could have been in another country, womwn in veils and men in dresses, and red light bars, I was surprised, all the taxi drivers were of a different colour, it was interesting and not threatening, until a young black chap came out of his apartment door and say "hello" ooeer misses. I obviouslky got there way too early so stopped for a coffee and croisant in the area that I know. So walked a different way back to Lidl's, went through main door again and sidled out to the back door, jumped in car and got absolutely lost, because it is a one-way system, and I had to get directions from a young lad, who advised to reverse for some way, but I didn't like to, so drive miles til I came to a no threough way so I could turn and go all the way back until I saw a sign to the main road. Relief. Have to say in Lidl's there was a lovely xmas village with 4 miniature houses which light up all snowy and xmassy, I adore them but at 16€ just couldn't find an excuse to buy it!
BYW the parking in Ibiza is free today as a fiesta and there were loads and loads of parking spaces right outside the clinic!!!! I needed the walk but hips are crying a bit now.
My friend died not long after I left her. Better all round really.
So sorry neti x
Sorry to hear your sad news Neti .At least you saw her one last time xx

Glad you're in one piece Robinia apart from the acheys and fallen trees .It's calmed down here now but I feel sorry for the people not far from me who have lost their homes .
I saw some photos on the internet Shaney, with washing machines halfway down a cliff and rooms fully furnished with no roof or walls, horrendous.
Yes it was awful Neti .Hemsby isn't far from me .They've lost everything .
The cliffs just gave way from the surge .
All the new railings along the seafront here have gone for a burton.
And the silly buggers were all wandering along the seafront !

My god, some people are silly, anything could happen.

Mr N has returned from his golf comp and BBQ in slightly befuddled mood, luckily he was driving! He promptly fell asleep on the sofa, so I've just sent him off to bed in the cold bedroom. Why should I go there when all he is going to do is sleep? Love having the lounge to muyself with the roaring log fire (Ok imitation!) but it's nice.
*Lickily he WASN'T driving* imagine that!!
I am sorry for your loss Neti, but better to go quickly than to linger like that.
Its blooming cold here tonight. I too am glad that we are all okay and still standing...or at least adopting our least painful positions of choice. Robi have you got a superbiddy secret identity?

people do it here too...at the least mention of bad weather all the idiots go to the sea to watch.
Freezing here too Woofy .Hope your fridge installation went well .
I'm in two minds about clearing off to bed with a hot water bottle and read my book .Busy day for me tomorrow ,market early ,then back ,my other brother should be here early afternoon, then it's off to the birthday do for SiL in the evening .
I 'll need a rocket up my rear end :)
I am being delightfully indolent.

sorry to hear of your friend, neti, but I suppose after an attack like that it's the best way - I wouldn't like to hang on for months, paralysed, able to hear my friends and relations sl*g me off but unable to throw heavy objects at them.

My eyes seem to be settling down - the wrong way, so far, I am seeing things well up close when it's supposed to be the other way round. Whatever. I lay down on the bed for a while and emerged two hours later - if I'd known I was going to be so long I'd have put my patch back on in case I bumped the eye, but I think I was unusually immobile the whole time.
Take care Jno and do as they say .Hopefullly it'll soon settle down for you ,it's early days as yet .
I'm off to lie down and join Neti in being indolent.
I may even be decadent and have a herbal tea . ...Oight Oight lovelies ,sleep toight .
fridge is in and lovely thank you Shaney. Its amazing how much space inside I have gained and how much more compact the outside is now I have gone back to a freestanding....not really sure why we chose a built in in the first place. Tomorrow begins the sorting of the mess and then chrissy decs!

I am in the south of the country for heaven's sakes, its not supposed to be cold here
